Albuquerque tied it's March record high temperature today of 85° (set in 1907 & 1971). We'll break that Thursday (88°), Friday (89°), and again on Saturday (90°). ABQ has never recorded a 90° day in March OR April. #NMwx

🔥 RECORD-SHATTERING HEAT IN Salt Lake City 🔥 Today wasn’t just warm… it was HISTORY. 🌡️ High: 81° 📊 Normal: 57° That’s not only a new daily record… It’s also a new ALL-TIME MARCH RECORD — beating the previous mark of 80°! It’s also the earliest in the year we’ve hit 80° on record.

Monthly records were incinerated in today's heat. A number of locations reached or exceeded monthly marks for April. A new national U.S. record for March was set at 2 miles WNW of Martinez Lake, AZ with a high of 110F (43.3C). Select #heatwave records follow.

Daily record highs were smashed today with readings an incredible 25°F above the daily normals. Not only were these daily record highs for March 19th, but also the warmest temperatures recorded in March for the period of record for these 3 major climate sites. #azwx #cawx

Well, if yesterday's map was ridiculous, I'm running out of superlatives to characterize today's. Countless locations from Pacific Coast to Great Plains are currently experiencing all-time record March warmth, w/ some locations approaching/exceeding April (or even May) records.

It's officially Denver's hottest March day on record. 85° at DIA (and downtown) = hottest March day in 154 years of official records. And it'll be even hotter tomorrow and Saturday. #COwx

Denver International Airport recorded a temperature of 85° this afternoon. This is a new, all-time record high temperature for the month of March... breaking the previous record of 84° set on March 26, 1971. #cowx

By our count, 65 cities in the West have already tied or set new March #heat records. A few have done that 2-3 days in a row.
