Home Office and Shabana Mahmood blasted over vetting fears and total lack of public consultation as hundreds of asylum seekers are moved out of hotels into quiet rural villages in Kent. More than 220 migrants are being dispersed into self-catering properties in Tonbridge and Malling, including the isolated village of Walderslade which has no shops, public transport or facilities. Conservative councillors say they have “no idea who or what we will be getting” and communities were given zero input. It’s part of Labour’s drive to close all asylum hotels by 2029, saving taxpayers nearly £65 million a year. Locals on the housing waiting list are furious they’re being sidelined. Zero transparency.

🚨 The Brook Hotel is CLOSING!! The hotel has been housing up to hundreds of foreign males since 2022, but Home Office sources have confirmed that this will soon change. The Home Office spends an average of £118 per night to accommodate each asylum seeker in a hotel, but came under pressure during the summer. Protests began at many hotels across the country, demanding a stop to the small boats and to prioritise our veterans over unvetted males. The Brook Hotel is one of 11 hotels closing this week.

@Miss_Snuffy State dependent means under state control & little chance of progression in life! I can’t believe people can’t see this isn’t kindness! The welfare state is a huge prison not a support! It’s not helping it’s suppressing! Plus those who genuinely need it never properly supported

They are buying your votes. This isn’t about giving struggling families help. This is about ‘making mornings easier for all families’. Do we really want the state doing everything for us? What about personal responsibility? How infantilising.

@RupertLowe10 But because of all the red tape can this really be achieved? Also I’m very worried about splitting the right wing vote x3 ways! It means we probably lose! Can everyone not all unite somehow so definitely win or does that mean diluting what needs to be done?

An undercover BBC investigation has found a ‘shadow industry of law firms and advisers is charging thousands of pounds to help migrants pretend to be gay in order to stay in the UK’. WE KNOW. We’ve all been saying it for years, but the BBC is finally catching on... A Restore Britain Government would solve this in two ways. Deportations. Anyone who arrived illegally gets deported - included those already granted asylum. If you came here on a boat, you will be sent home. If a foreign national lawyer or worker has been involved in the fraud, they too will be deported. They can claim they’re gay if they like - they can explain all about it to the deportation officer on their flight home. Prosecutions. Any British national found defrauding the asylum system will go to prison - that includes those within the Home Office. Simple as that. We will pursue the judiciary - if they have been found to knowingly allow foreign sex pests and criminals to roam our streets? They will be held accountable. We will not be afraid to put judges in prison. Because the British people have all had enough of this. Restore Britain will finally end the vile piss-take, and thousands of people will go to prison for their role in it.

Victims’ lawyer Chris Walker has demanded Southport killer Axel Rudakubana’s parents are jailed for failing to stop the massacre of three little girls. The damning public inquiry found the attack “would not have occurred” if his parents had done what they “morally ought to have done.” Rwandan asylum seekers Alphonse Rudakubana (50) and Laetitia Muyazire (54) knew their son was hoarding machetes, knives and ricin ingredients for over a year. A week before the July 29, 2024 slaughter they discovered he planned to attack his old school yet stayed silent and obstructed authorities. Walker says they have “blood on their hands” and must face criminal accountability. Parents who protect monsters belong behind bars too.

Years ago, we were told Rwandan Genocide leaders were inside Britain being protected by our corrupt ultra left woke security agencies. That's why Manchester bombing happened to. Another Lybian terror group is protected by the British state on our tax dime. Why are these people in our f ing country. Its being covered up. This will happen again their are Afganistan Militias in this country, Hamas militias, the list goes on. Protected by people who are obviously trautors to the British. If we dont start getting organised this country is gone in a matter of a few yrs

The Southport inquiry is horrifying and sobering reading. This dreadful attack should have been prevented. His parents were aware of the risk. Prevent alerted three times. A teacher who described him as “sinister” was accused of racial profiling. It must never happen again.

We need far more social and affordable housing. Labour must also raise the bar and deliver high standards. Not just more houses, but better homes within healthy communities. We're still a wealthy country. No one should live with damp, mould or disrepair.‌

It is genuinely positive to see an MP say what most in Westminster already know but rarely admit publicly: the triple lock is not sustainable. For years, this has been driven by political fear more than economic reality. An electoral bribe in the form of a universal benefit that keeps rising, paid for by younger workers to an ageing population. We do need to start thinking differently about the state pension. Protect people from poverty, yes, but be honest about what the country can afford. More on this: conservativehome.com/2026/04/10/ann…

Every day we watch as the US and Israel breach intl law with seeming impunity, wreaking chaos and devastation on the world stage. This cannot continue. The UK must take serious action and make clear we will not be made accomplice to Trump and Netanyahu's illegal aggression.

The victory of the opposition in Hungary yesterday, like the Polish election in 2023, is a victory for democracy, not just in Europe but around the world. Most of all, it’s a testament to the resilience and determination of the Hungarian people – and a reminder to all of us to keep striving for fairness, equality and the rule of law.

The brutal, senseless murders of Bebe, Elsie and Alice marked one of the darkest moments in our country’s history. The report today is truly harrowing and profoundly disturbing. It sets out systematic failures that led to this terrible event. I’ve been overwhelmed by the bravery and determination of their families and while nothing will ever bring these three little girls back, I’m determined to make the fundamental changes needed to keep the public safe. I will do everything I can to honour the memory of Bebe, Elsie, and Alice.

Horrendous. Poisoned meat has been found in Parks in London leaving animals and dogs dead and seriously ill. Who would do something so cruel?? The locations (so far) are Holland Park and Brompton Cemetery for anybody in London looking to walk their dogs near there. Dog walker local to the park said this: "In this case, it's poison meat," he said. "Before we've had toys that have been left around that have been poisoned. The worst one that really shocked me was razor blades being left in tennis balls." One woman walking her dog in Holland Park told BBC London: "I'm totally disgusted. I can't even imagine why anyone would do that." Another dog walker said: "It's absolutely horrendous. I'm not sure if someone's doing it for a spiteful reason. "It will stop people coming to the park with their dogs."
