@sillytuna @cybourgeoisie All game journos hate F2P. I was pretty much the only one who liked them for 5+ years even in our company which was writing 80% about F2P games. I assume the same thing for blockchain games.

Steam banning NFT games is only going to hurt mainstream gamers and make it harder for them to find blockchain games. NFT games are going to be just fine. Their core audience knows exactly how and where to find them, by word of mouth and connected communities.

@RubySalt912 @Grummz If the OG artists creates a limited series for GTA V, yes, you and the others that purchased it, would be the only ones having a legitimate version from the artist inside the game. It doesn't solve copyright infringment in UGC environments, but does make provenance verifiable.

@Grummz NFT in games? How's that going to work, you buy a painting in GTAV (with real money or billions of in-game money) and claim it as yours and no one else can have the same image?

Ethereum blocks will be full. Solana blocks will be full. Arbitrum blocks will be full. Optimism blocks will be full. Polygon blocks willl be full. Starknet blocks will be full. No project is even remotely close to have the throughput needed to serve the world.

@Unsquarable 🤩 This site is super pretty! Nice work. I couldn't find any explanation of what it is, though. Is it close to what I described?

Who's doing cross-game NFT game items? Fun project idea: issue NFT game items that are all flavor + graphics, with no associated rules. Any game can integrate them permissionlessly and define their own rules. Meta-story about cross-realm rift infecting all these different games.

@alexgausman What's the definition of simple utility? What's the definition and scope of simple sovs? Group and or collections of sovs? With or without fractionalization?

@beaniemaxi @ItWasDRS @WizardX_0x I guess I read it that way at first, which didn't make sense to me. To clarify, when you say have to be non fungible you mean that if there is an edition of 1 of n, that each has to be a separate token ID right?

When you are buying an NFT, you are buying more than the art. The most overlooked thing is the contract itself. Not all contracts are created equal, not even close. Personally, I’d never buy an ERC-1155 as a collector. I can’t model a scenario where these will retain value.

@Bzlapped Got it, then it's quite overzealous and out of bounds, but just overall still unsurprising based on my experiences 😬

@Unsquarable Not true. Each individual is responsible for their own tracing and contacting relevant parties. It is not the Condos job. They have no jurisdiction here. They just want to warn other tenants (Which is OK) and which is why I shared my timeline anyway.

Once you've read my long wall of text (sorry for that). I just have a simple question to all of you. Am I exaggerating here? Am I in the wrong? Or is this just a significant breach of privacy? My agent is furious, my friend who owns a condo here is as well. I am just baffled.

@Bzlapped I'm in a neighboring country, I'm going to assume they're ( the condo) being responsible for doing contact tracing and documenting official paperwork from hospitals. Privacy is generally ignored or not deemed important. They follow and emforce government guidelines.

@danielrakh @vgrichina One doesn't stop the other, the Ethereum momentum will contribute to spill over into other chains, the same way Bitcoin did overtime. Users will be less and less tied to transacting on a single chain.

The DeFi wave brought in the finance folks and software engineers. The NFT wave brought in the digital artists and product designers. Imagine betting against Ethereum right now.

@charlesv What's important is the digital signature of the artist and it's provenance (authenticity). It won't solve art theft or copyright infringement. The only way for a legitimate duplicate would be if the artist himself issues a second edition, but they'll be dated accordingly.

@liradestemplada @artmarkham @pixelatedboat The artist doesn't need to sell for a volatile currency, you can receive the equivalent in USD and not be subject to the variations of the market. It's a perpetual royalty on the marketplace. If the asset is sold for $100 after being bought, the artist receives $10.

@StephenPiment Yes, all it takes is for the software to verify the ownership of the nft with a signature of the owner.

Could software be sold via smart contracts similar to an NFT? I don't necessarily mean as ERC-721 tokens, but perhaps ERC-1155 or similar?
