@giancar73012035 I don't hate marathon as much as I do bungie at this point. Though, marathon is woefully uninspiring and has yet to do anything different outside of its exotic color palette. The first seasonal reset will kill it's already declining numbers. (That's not shade, it's fact)

I've realized that marathon haters don't have any arguments about the game itself because the game is good and the vast majority of people who have played it liked it. Their only argument is Steam Charts, that's all.

I’m not gonna lie fill in marathon might be the worst gaming experience I’ve encountered They gotta do something to incentivise people to run stuff, like why am I gonna putt on a full loadout just for me to get 2 free kits. Forcing me to 1v3

Marathon is the best gaming experience I've had in years 👏 I thought this would be a fun side game, but it's a masterpiece. PvP dopamine hits like 2016 Overwatch, 2020 Warzone, or 2025 Marvel Rivals. World immersion, lore obsession, and absolute binge sessions like Elden Ring. And we haven't even experienced the true END GAME raids of Cryo Archives (not to mention Ranked Play dropping). We'll see how things keep playing out. Still some changes to be seen here or there, but right now I am absolutely floored 🔥 (Never been sponsored for a stream/video/post by the way... Just having fun!)

Yeah so Marathon's cool and all but I definitely think the numbers are less about the game being good/bad and more about community goodwill. Burning several million players by basically torching a beloved franchise really didn't help, tbh. I can't play without feeling gross. I don't think I've ever been more grossed out at leadership decisions and disrespected as a player than I do by what Bungie did with Destiny 2 for the sake of Marathon, which should not be their focus. I'll say it again: I respect Todd Howard's lying more than I do the systematic destruction of a franchise and years of abuse towards a supportive community. This isn't even beginning to touch on the identity/intellectual theft from Marathon and all that stuff, or the abuse of the Bungie leadership towards Destiny 2 developers. Bungie kinda deserves the failure for how they've acted. That's my hot take.

Late spawns were designed to encourage PvP. You enter the raid late and engage in fights to earn yourself loot that someone else spent the last 10-15 minutes acquiring. How does that sit with you?

The wipe loop was never supposed to be the main mechanism of the game (Tarkov) like I said it was a necessity that people accepted as the extraction experience but it isn’t necessary. Forced wipes drive away casual players

@happytobebald Alot of thought and heart went into destiny only for it to get neglected. I don't wish for marathon to fail, but I do wish Bungie had dedicated it's resources to improving Destiny. To me, and many others, marathon is merely a step to a potential D3.

@TheRooster I've Soo far found 3 tempest BP's, 2 volcano BP's and a slew of other wonderful nonsense. It's actually kinda power creeping the game a bit I feel.

Caches are OP I just found a Tempest BP in one. ➡️ Play Hurricane in ARC Raiders ➡️ Search hidden caches

@SperanzaIntel The PvP sweats will love it and a few casuals will get it. It will surge but the casuals will quickly leave, the sweats will push out mediocre PvPers. The game will have a strong sweat base until the next cool PvP game comes out.

Embark has adopted marathons stance on cheaters. Don't delude yourself into thinking Bungie is capable

@SperanzaIntel arc is full of cheaters. Us pvpers will be checking out marathon for sure. They have a better anti cheat and fog of war system to mess with aim bots and wall hacks.
