This serves as a strong warning to criminal illegal aliens to not come to America. If they do, they will be hunted down and deported. I am so grateful that the House Republicans passed Dalilah’s Law out of @TransportGOP Committee. What happened to Dalilah Coleman is a tragedy that could have been PREVENTED if California had not granted commercial driver’s licenses to illegal aliens who should have never been here in the first place. Under President Trump's leadership, we have worked to deliver justice for the families impacted by illegal alien crime and have ensured that the tragedies they endured will no longer continue.

My thoughts and prayers are with the White House Chief of Staff, Susie Wiles. She is the definition of strength and courage, and I am looking forward to a swift and smooth recovery for her.

It is high time for the Democrats to end the DHS shutdown. @TSA officers missed their most recent paycheck on Friday as a result of the Democrats’ DHS shutdown — for the THIRD time in nearly six months. As Americans across the nation face hours-long wait times at airports, Democrats continue to play political games while @TSA officers and travelers pay the highest price.

HSI is currently on the scene in Michigan with other federal agencies and local law enforcement, and we are closely monitoring the alleged shooter report and vehicle crash at the Temple Israel Synagogue in West Bloomfield, Michigan. @DHSgov will continue to monitor the situation on the ground.

Please join me in praying for the family of Coast Guard Petty Officer 2nd Class Tyler Jaggers. Tyler Jaggers, an aviation survival technician assigned to Air Station Astoria, Oregon, passed away yesterday, as a result of critical injuries sustained during a February 27 medical evacuation mission which was offshore from Cape Flattery, Washington.   Prior to Tyler Jaggers passing, surrounded by his parents, sister, fiance, friends, and @USCG temamates, Jaggers was meritoriously advanced to Petty Officer Second Class and awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross—one of the highest military awards for heroism during aerial flight. We are grateful for his faithful service.

Thank you @POTUS Trump for appointing me as the Special Envoy for the Shield of the Americas. @SecRubio and @SecWar are incredible leaders and I look forward to working with them closely to dismantle cartels that have poured drugs into our nation and killed our children and grandchildren. The Western Hemisphere is absolutely critical for U.S. security. In this new role, I will be able to build on the partnerships and national security expertise, I forged over the last 13 months as Secretary of Homeland Security. We have made historic accomplishments at the Department of Homeland Security to make America safe again: we delivered the MOST secure border in American history, 3 million illegal aliens have left the U.S., we have located 145,000 children, FEMA delivered disaster relief at a 100% faster rate, we ushered in the golden age of travel, saved the American taxpayer $13 billion and revitalized the U.S. Coast Guard.

Today's announcement is further proof that this is the most exciting time to join the Coast Guard in 235 years. Thanks to President Trump's visionary leadership and historic investment in the Coast Guard, the Service is shattering records across the board—including in recruitment. Last year’s recruitment exceeded 110% of active-duty enlisted goals, and the Coast Guard is on track to add 15,000 new members by 2028. This next generation of heroes deserves training centers and support facilities worthy of their mission, and that is exactly what they are going to have in Alabama.

Their strength inspires me to continue to fight for the scores of Americans who have lost their lives because of Biden's destructive open border policy. The Democrat DHS Shutdown has Consequences for American Citizens and Hardworking Families Our Cybersecurity Agency (@CISAgov) has lost hundreds of workers who have been furloughed. We have training for weapons of mass destruction, for detecting bombs and terrorist activities across the country, many of whom work with our local law enforcement, who have been furloughed and are not on duty today. The Democrat Party is damaging families long-term to make a political point when it has no effect on what we are doing for immigration enforcement every single day, because that agency is funded.

Thanks to President Trump’s leadership and the dedicated work of DHS personnel, our department has achieved historic results and made communities safer. Border apprehensions are at the lowest level since tracking began in 1992. Nearly 3 million illegal aliens have left the United States. ICE has arrested over 1,500 Known or Suspected Terrorists (KSTs) and more than 7,700 gang members. Fentanyl trafficking at the southern border has dropped by more than half compared to the same period in 2024. Of the more than 450,000 unaccompanied alien children lost under the Biden administration, 145,000 have been located under President Trump—and we will not stop until every last one is found. These are just some of the many successes of DHS. The shutdown is placing tremendous strain on the men and women of TSA, the Secret Service, and the Coast Guard. The Department must be reopened and fully funded to ensure our homeland remains prepared to respond to potential threats or retaliatory measures.

Today, I had the privilege of joining the Western States Sheriff’s Association in Reno, NV. I am confident that increased cooperation among ICE, DHS, and local law enforcement will help accomplish what the American people voted for under President Trump — safer communities and restored law and order. We have accomplished so much in the last year, including a 125-year low in our murder rate, and with the support of state and local law enforcement leaders, the next three years will be even better. I look forward to our continued partnership to make America safe again.

Today marks the Department of Homeland Security’s 23rd anniversary. Less than two years after the devastating attacks of September 11, 2001, DHS was established. Since then, DHS has stood at the helm of our country’s national security, protecting the American people and our homeland. I am especially grateful to those of you who are serving during the current shutdown without a paycheck, and I thank you for your continued service and sacrifice to our nation. As threats evolve, DHS is there. By air, land, sea, or cyberspace, the DHS workforce boldly confronts national threats every day. The work of DHS is not always visible, but we are working diligently to prevent cybersecurity and terrorism threats, safeguard the southern border, reform our broken immigration system, and help Americans in the wake of natural disasters. I would also like to honor the colleagues we have lost over the last 23 years in the line of duty. Their service and memory strengthen our resolve. Together, we will ensure that the United States remains a beacon of freedom, safety, and security for generations to come. May God richly bless you all.
