The USA is weird now. If you’re a person under 30, you probably think it’s normal but that’s because you don’t know Trust me. It’s weird.

@JulieChangRE We are deigned to chase progress and upward mobility Most people who don’t upgrade homes still do other creative things to achieve progress like renovations and redecorating I found I am happiest mostly leaving my home as-is and pursuing fitness goals

@ja3k_ $3000 a year comes out to $250 a month. So if gas prices double, you’re talking about an extra $100-$200 a month Sadly a lot of people don’t have room in their budget for an extra $100-$200 a month that cannot be cut out (they have to drive to work or wherever)

Idk why gas prices are so culturally salient in america. You could drive an hour a day and it probably comes to less than $3k/year. Is it because they put the price on billboards along the road?

@BitcoinPoke @WarMonkCT Yeah, the main roads were okay after 2 days but side roads were a mess for 4-5 days. Solid ice

@WarMonkCT @texasrunnerDFW It was like an inch of pure sleet, which has a much higher water content than snow. It’s very slick and melts very slowly due to the high water content. It was on the roads for days.

New home sales across Texas declined in February, led by big drops in Dallas and Houston February *should* have been a much stronger print January had horrific snow and ice that basically shut down Dallas for an entire week, and mortgage rates declined in February

@WSJ No, the store isn’t the only winner The parents who spend time with kids, the kids who develop teamwork skills, resilience, and also stay physically fit, the grandparents who come out on a sunny day to watch their grandchild play Lots of winners in youth sport

It feels like the overall experience of social media has dropped significantly in the last few months. It's not unique to this platform, but all of the ones I use. Am I alone in this sentiment?

@DanDavi47038421 That data will be bad and blamed on the “war event” At some point you have to accept it’s just a bad market

@pharout73 @m3_melody And the next month’s bad print will be “the war” At some point multiple series of weak data is just because the market is weak and it doesn’t really matter why the market is weak when new “whys” keep popping up. The weakness will continue

@zerohedge We had a lot of tailwinds from pandemic demand, supply constraint, money printing, sky high stock markets, etc that allowed the math to not matter for several years Now savings are gone, supply was built, the printer is off, the stock market is shaky The math matters again.

@zerohedge I just lost a bidding war in North Texas. 1.3 million, multiple offers in less than a week. So homes can sell if priced correctly

@tigerroarrs @TXDad10 It was trying to be different early on.They built higher end neighborhoods using the better builders with bigger lots. The median home price is higher than Frisco Prosper is stricter on multifamily and high density housing, but many of the new neighborhoods are too Frisco-y

It’s really cool how people mortgaged themselves up the gills for new construction houses in exurbs, right before employers told everyone to return to office and right before gas prices spiked and doubled

I didn’t believe it until I saw the video. The governor of NY is begging rich people to move back to fund her social programs. So, like, I guess there are consequences to over taxation after all?

@TXDad10 Celina will be the next Frisco Prosper is too small, land wise. I’m not sure what it will be. Tried to be the Southlake of the North but failed on a few fronts, especially the “luxury shopping” that was supposed to be Gates of Prosper—it’s Kohls, TJ Maxx and 5 Below

@_sorrengailll The youngest looking 40-50 year olds I know had kids young and became empty nesters early Maybe at 30 they looked older than childless 30 year olds, but they more than made up for it later

Unpopular Opinion: Having kids is what ages you. Which is why all these people in their early 20s that have kids look 50 by the time they hit 30. And the childless 30yr olds look like they are still in their 20s.

@texasrunnerDFW @realmatt_re I believe this is a Canadian builder (Mattamy), but American builders probably aren't far behind We need laws where an undercollateralized mortgage might eventually be securitized, but I'm not holding my breath
