@ehp5bxjw @afrofelines They actually do it to compete with other women
English

@afrofelines Yet again women physically harming themselves for men to find them attractive. Idc if you don’t die instantly from being obese but youre making your life harder and think it’s all worth it because your man finds you “thick”.

@martin_excan @FiddlerNapoleon @skinxheadx @AridoAmSubstack Welcomed by a few traitors of the merchant class that should have been hanged.
English

@FiddlerNapoleon @skinxheadx @AridoAmSubstack Clearly they were welcomed by the farmers and corporations who enjoyed their cheap labor

Not really. Even Anglo-Canadians (the real ones east of Alberta) are culturally distinct from Anglo-Americans. They value order over liberty, don't see an issue with government-owned enterprise, have a sense of public decorum, pub culture, etc...

@SaharanMujahida i wish these jokes against white people were better. It's just 10 people saying "you belong in the caves" white people deserve quality racism too guys

English

@the_transit_guy I think that's another reason why people crave walkable communities without knowing it.

@TristinHopper I work at a school, this is from our principal. I like this concept of ‘pride’.

@dairycalz @rii6ual The thick era came after 2015, when the tumblr era was dwindling. Cara’s popularity peaked 2012-2015.
English

@rii6ual It coincided with the popularity of hip-hop in the 2010s but the broader(read:white) culture always still privileged and rewarded thin bodies. Thigh gaps, triangl, vs fashion show, cara delevigne were all huge… all about that bass like meghan trainor was considered big
English

@dairycalz @rii6ual It was just the millenial backlash against the skinny early 00s ED era, body positive and health at every size activism

"Billionaires influencing Canadian politics" is such an American issue transposed onto Canada. Outside of media consolidation, it's really not an issue here.
Doesn't stop Canadians who mostly follow American politics from falling for it.
Rachel Gilmore@atRachelGilmore
What does an unlikely Ontario Liberal Party leadership hopeful — who is beloved by right wingers — have to do with a billionaire-backed push to influence Canadian policies? Buckle up because I’d LOVE to tell you!

@daijoboo @s0ftshock Men are getting cosmetic enhancements more now, as tech improves, as in biotech, the gap will close.
English

@s0ftshock Observing the gender disparity in cosmetic enhancement as I get older gets increasingly annoying. Especially in the spheres of American mass media and advertising. Women who exhibit any visible signs of aging are an anomaly or a punchline.
English

@s0ftshock It’s fine. Aging is a disease, they’re just addressing the physical part.
I like how older women are putting more effort into their looks and health now, before they’d just let themselves go :(

Canadians have built tech empires. But most didn't do it at home. ✈️
@Uber, @Cloudflare, @OpenAI, @AnthropicAI - all co-founded by 🇨🇦's who went on to build their businesses in the 🇺🇸.
Add on foreign nationals who attended Canadian universities, you get @Instacart, @Tesla, @moderna_tx, @NotionHQ. 🎓
Founders of all these companies slipped through our national grasp.

@di3tco4e @ceruleannmist It’s got to have back up for any scenario (he loses his job, divorce, etc.) but Twitter feminists act as if these extreme situations are the norm. Most marriages do not end like that.
English

@ceruleannmist I will never understand someone putting themselves in this situation… what if he dies, gets sick, divorces you, is abusive…. You have no way out… financial and emotional abuses are real…
