@VERYKOOLLUKEY As someone who has lived with many kinds of chairs, I can just outright tell you this is wrong. Chairs that don't support you properly will tempt you into slouching and similarly bad posture that creates MORE joint strain over time.

The irony of ergonomics is the fact that the more ergonomic something is, the worse it is for you A western style memory foam bed is the worst thing you can possibly sleep on because it perfectly cradles your body, whereas a Japanese futon style bed for example requires your stabilizer muscles to constantly be firing and your spine to maintain natural alignment Ergonomics literally cause muscular atrophy This is precisely the reason if you sleep in a western style bed you likely wake up sore. Hard surfaces create pressure points causing your body to naturally move during the night which in turn keeps your joints lubricated and your muscles engaged. Over time this leads to weaker back and core muscles which lead to worse daytime posture and life long problems. All this is to say that the best chair you can buy is ironically just a cheap wood one A testament to the importance of eustress

@TerraWarePC I feel like FSR3 would deliver a superior image, even though it'll have to go to a lower internal resolution, than FSR1 would. Like, FSR 1 is terrible.

If you wonder why Capcom is using FSR 1 in Pragmata on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, it's because it's cheap. Going from FSR 1 to FSR 4 has around a 35% performance cost on the 9060XT and it'd probably be something similar for PSSR on the PS5 Pro

@Emz_Cast It does look bad because the light, even in diffusely lit scenes, terminates harshly on the skin. This makes the skin appear like plastic would. Just to point out one thing that's obviously flawed.

@SheriefFYI Your display doesn't support VRR? Weow. Still, even 2D content benefits from higher frame rates. That's why phones have high rate refresh screens these days.

@vrilliumlive Let's ban firearms and armored vehicles while we're at it, too. If you're not close enough to your enemy to be bathed in their blood when you cut them down, you're a coward.

@FilippoTarpini Devs get a 100% cut of the profits if they bother to make steam keys and sell those on their own website (where they're not allowed to undercut the steam storefront, for obvious reasons)

My Epic Store randomly turned to Turkish! Despite the sluggishness, questionable design and lack of basic feature after years, I remain a fan and like the initiative: Steam, even if good, is in need of competition to avoid abusing its monopoly state (however "nice" Gabe might be, it's still a company, never forget that). Remember that devs get a wider cut when you a buy a game from the Epic store. I never rly understood people's passionate hate for EGS "exclusively" when at worse a game is 3 clicks away (install store, buy, launch)...

@thomasbrushdev It may be worth loading large and non-critical assets like a song or video file asynchronously and playing them when ready, instead of stalling your entire everything. That and streaming the file instead of loading, then playing - especially for video.

Things I'm learning during optimization. Low hanging fruit as it pertains to frame hitching (especially on Steam deck): playing audio one shots require you to be careful with the file size of the audio in import settings (and also if it's preloaded or not!). Same is true with video files! If you try and play the audio or video at runtime it's going to hitch. Especially if the audio file is like 20mb lol. I had one audio file (a song) that did this. Cutscenes, video files that play in game should be low file size (or preloaded) or they are loaded at runtime and cause a hitch. Finally, obviously, preload your shaders. Real time shadows can also be a killer, so turn them off for low end hardware or limit their draw distance significantly. Okay! That is all

@SebAaltonen Yeah, the big jumps in density at a manufacturing level just aren't happening anymore. It's sad. We used to get mid-cycle refreshes on a new node. That's long over :(

Flagship big die GPUs used to be always $599: GeForce 8800 GTX (2006) = 0.52 TFLOPS GeForce GTX 1080 (2016) = 8.87 TFLOPS 17x improvement in 10 years. Good old times. Today you can find a 12GB RTX 5070 for $650. That's just 3.5x TFLOPS vs 10 years ago at the same price :(

@TheRooster We did not go backwards. The materials look like crap. Texture resolution is poor. Lighting is unconvincing (ladder looks like it floats against the plane). And this was all hand placed fakery for a fixed scene. Not dynamic or real time.

This game is 15 years old. > No ray-tracing > No AI upscaling > No frame-gen > Takes only 20gb > Developed in just 3 yrs GTX 580 ran BF3 on Ultra with 1.5gb VRAM Now you drop $1200 on a GPU and can barely hold 60 FPS in modern games without DLSS Why did we go backwards?

Devs are testing new TTK: they are edjusting the rate of fire on selection of weapons, so they are less effective at securing extremely quick kills. Changes is not coming soon on public build and experimental, for Labs only.

@AversiveC @tsuniko_ When you yank the mouse far, you involve your elbow and shoulder, not just your wrist. Using only your wrist is a factor in developing carpal tunnel. That and crappy ergonomics where you squeeze your arm in bad ways by having your desk too high etc.

@Confrontedgame I like the art direction. Very atmospheric. But please look into solving the insane pixely noise, especially present on foliage. Not sure if just bad/missing AA.

@RinoTheBouncer The only button on my dashboard is 1440p/360. Sorry. If really forced to chose, I'd go for 1080/240. <~100 is just stuttering for me at this point.

@Battlefield Contaminated is too open once the buildings are gone (after 60 seconds) and the attacking team can only win if the guys hogging the vehicles have enough marbles not to drive in and kill themselves on cooldown. Both points further increase mortar/sniper spam, which is not fun.

@wesleytypes @MegaCrit Throwing the entire concept under the bus instead of using the readily available tools (reviews by language & over time) to understand the data and form your own opinion based on that... is real small brain stuff. Only china is mad. Please, do better. And praise GabeN.

> sell 3 million copies in the first week > reach a player peak of over 500,000 > receive universal praise on release So how does Slay the Spire II currently have a "Mixed" rating on Steam? Because Steam user reviews are not really reviews in the traditional sense. Instead, they're used as a bargaining chip to communicate real time grievances with game updates, bugs, and developer choices at the expense of a game's actual overall quality and reputation. This is one of the many reasons why I don't trust user reviews and scores.

@clashdotgg The first clip isn't that telling. Dying in the molly does give your enemy less money than dying to their Mac-10. And in a full eco, with a pistol and without armor... You're likely to die. The famas on ancient portion is more suspect.
