@Jason People always try this when I talk about conciseness. As in this case they usually end up showing what happens when you go to far. You threw out so many babies with the bathwater. For example, you might as well just cut 2 now, since there is no longer any connection to 1.

To make progress in improving America in a real macro way, the people who need to lose wealth so that everyone else can thrive aren’t “billionaires,” it’s actually “people who have their wealth in the value of their home.”
And that’s actually a much much more powerful interest group.

It's largely true, especially for the EU. These nations negotiate from the position of centrality they simply don't have. Their actual strong, unique cards (eg ASML EUV) are already off the table. Markets, "human rights"… meh.

Thats not the issue. The fundanental issue is that the US and Western Europeans have a delusional model of the world where they are the "center" and the rest of the planet is a periphery, which is inferior and insignificant and this periphery must submit to their arbitrary dictates. But the rest of the world has developed over the past 70-80 years. Perhaps not enough to match their GDP per capita but enough to make tanks and drones. Now, there exists countries outside this fictional "center" like Russia which are big and developed enough so that they can actually say "excuse me." This conflict will only stop when the US and it's junior partners in Europe start to come to terms with reality. The peace plan the US proposed is a good start. As I said before, Trump's election since 2016 has represented this process of coming to terms to the reality of the 21st century. The europeans, now being generations under the US's security umbrella, live in a bubble so to speak, so they tend to be more delusional.
