@MaxBlumenthal So isn’t this admitting that the sanctions we had on Iran hurt US even before this war?

The sanctions on Iran are so effective that we must lift the sanctions to harm Iran Then we will steal the unsanctioned oil from China
Rapid Response 47@RapidResponse47

.@SecScottBessent: In the coming days, we may unsanction the Iranian oil that's on the water. It's about 140 million barrels, so depending how you count it, that's 10 days to 2 weeks of supply, that the Iranians had been pushing out, that would have all gone to China. In essence, we'd be using the Iranian barrels against the Iranians to keep the price down for the next 10 or 14 days, as we continue this campaign. So, we have lots of levers.

Exactly! I’ve never claimed that the Islamic world is peaceful. The US isn’t peaceful, neither is Israel nor much of the Muslim world. The point is that when you start slaughtering people’s children, you’re likely to deal with more blowback terrorist attacks. No one wants to take on that argument because it’s pretty undeniable.
Generalissimo Snake@EzhmaarSul

@GadSaad Saad is confused because Smith never made the argument that Islam is a peaceful religion, so he defaults to shilling his shitty book.

@Jakebrad9 @mcimac38 @rgoodlaw It absolutely would be better and nowhere near the level of FUBAR that right now is. Dems a have their own issues but they pale on magnitude to the issues presented by the right in 2026.

@mcimac38 @rgoodlaw While I agree with this, it only bothers me because the people that agree with this think that if they had voted for the Democrat option, things would be better and wouldn’t be exactly the same level of FUBAR.

@BenjaminNorton Correct, BUT if they had to vote for it they would not be able to play both sides and say “Oh, I DIDN’T support the war. It was evils Trump!” If they vote for it, we can use it to hold them accountable and vote them out at least.

This is why it is stupid, and a fake criticism, to say that a war waged by a US president is bad only because it wasn't approved by Congress. Congress is full of warmongering imperialists who will happily approve the president's war of aggression. Nevertheless, Democratic politicians often use this talking point ("the war must be approved by Congress") as a fake form of opposition, to deceive people into believing they are against Trump's war, when in reality they support it. Most Democratic Party leaders support this imperialist war on Iran, just as they supported the imperialist wars on Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen, etc. Trump's war of aggression is illegal not because of domestic US laws, which the rest of the world doesn't care about, but rather because of INTERNATIONAL LAW, which strictly forbids wars of aggression against sovereign states.

The US government ERASED its own hunger report. Not because hunger is falling. Because it's surging. Here's what they don't want you to see. Grocery prices in America are up 30% since January 2020. Beef and veal, up 59%, Coffee: up 50%. Eggs: up 36%. Chicken: up 33%. Bread: up 33%. These aren't even luxury items, these are the basics. But here's the part nobody's talking about. Overall inflation peaked in June 2022 and it came down. Food prices didn't. They just stayed up there. Locked in and permanent. That's not inflation anymore. The old prices are never coming back. The average American family now spends $270 a week on groceries. In 2020 it was $120. That's $1,080 a month just to eat at home. Restaurant prices? Even worse. Up 35% since the pandemic. Waffle House nearly doubled its menu. Independent restaurants are closing in waves. Now look at who's getting crushed. 47.9 million Americans are food insecure. 1 in 7 households can't reliably put food on the table. The highest rate in nearly a decade. 14.1 million children live in homes that don't have enough food. That number went up last year, not down Food banks are seeing 30 to 50 percent surges in demand. One in West Virginia reported an 1,800% increase in families showing up. Lines not seen since the worst of COVID. And here's where it gets darker. Congress just cut $186 billion from SNAP, food stamps. 2.4 million people are projected to lose benefits. Average monthly assistance drops by $100 per household. Then the USDA quietly announced it would stop publishing its annual hunger report. The one tool the government had to track how many Americans can't afford to eat. They're not solving the crisis. They're hiding the scoreboard. Meanwhile, beef prices are forecast to rise another 5.5% this year. The US cattle herd is at a 64 year low. Coffee futures have exploded 300% since 2020. Tariffs could add another 2-3% to grocery bills. This is the biggest affordability crisis in a generation. It's on every receipt, at every checkout line, in every kitchen in America and it's accelerating. Bookmark this. Share it. Because the people in charge are hoping you stop paying attention.

@SeminoleScout7 @bumbadum14 It depends on how long they think it will last. If they think it’s a year or two, some companies might eat it short term (or some of it) before changing prices. In the long run, no one’s losing margin for artificial costs that needs to make money.

@bumbadum14 Yes. None of these people live in the real world. Tariffs are absorbed by three entities: The importer, the exporter, and the consumer. Without full context, nobody knows how much each party will bear.

When the tariff chicken game happened last April my boss and I were glued to the phone talking to factories in China. Every day the number was changing so we were on Wechat, emailing, and on the phone negotiating prices. I won't lie, it was an incredibly stressful week, I didn't know if I'd keep my job. When the change was from 30% to 50% (consumer electronics) they told us they would drop their prices to compensate for the import duty. When it went from 50% to 80% they told us they would drop their prices to compensate for the import duty. When it went to 125% the factory said that we could buy the product, discounted, from their Indonesia facility. People like Billy have never worked in the real world, they don't understand that the factory cities of Dongguan are viewed as geopolitical assets by the Chinese government. He doesn't understand how it works over there, that the Chinese government was going to subsudize the factories to drop prices to maintain their geopolitical position as the manufacturing monopoly. But even then, IF PRICES WENT UP, they would never go up commensurate with the tariff. The reason why? NO COMPANY IS LEAVING 10-30% MARGIN ON THE TABLE THEN SUDDENLY CHANGING THEIR MIND BECUASE OF A TARIFF. If the price went up for a product it's because a multi-billion dollar organization, which is actively paying MILLIONS for consumer research, was given a graph, and on that graph the point moved for price maximization when weighed against price and consumer pool. But Billy doesn't know anything, he thinks that normal every day Americans pay for tariffs when in reality it's a corporate tax, and it's the most effective and best corporate tax that exists. This is why economists oppose it by the way. All the hallowed economists that hate tariffs have been clamoring about corporate taxes, pushing UCG, and everything else under the sun. The reason being that it doesn't disturb the national order, it doesn't do anything, and there are loop holes to avoid paying those taxes. But this doesn't apply to tariffs. Tariffs are the most effective way to tax large corporations that also incentivize pro-America business practices. That's why status-quo enjoying, no-nothing morons in the neoliberal hellspace hate them.
Billy Binion@billybinion

The tariffs are not, in fact, paid for by foreign countries. Virtually every economist agrees they are paid for by Americans, because that is how businesses pass down costs. It's basic economics. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

🔥 BREAKING 🔥 The Israel Lobby & Jewish Organisations have pushed the Ohio Government to remove Americans FIRST AMENDMENT & make it illegal to criticise Israel or Jews. Ohio, U.S is proposing 20 YEARS in prison & fines of up to $1 MILLION for Americans who boycott or speak out against the Jews. SB 87 expands Ohio’s ethnic intimidation statute by enhancing criminal penalties based on ‘perceived’ motive tied to race, religion, or national origin, including in contexts involving peaceful protest, political expression, and assembly. SB 87 would also codify the overbroad and widely criticized International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of antisemitism into Ohio law, raising serious concerns that criticism of a foreign government, specifically Israel and its policies, could be mischaracterized as evidence of discriminatory intent. Civil liberties advocates have repeatedly cautioned that the IHRA definition has been weaponized across the country to suppress lawful speech and activism. If you want to know who rules over you, look at who you can’t criticise.

@lone_rides Yeah, it’s crazy that the Republicans are losing to that when all they had to do was NOT protect pedophiles and actually deport illegals and we wouldn’t have to worry about the Democrats winning in 2026.

Dr Strangetweet or How I Learned to Love the RT
To recap the Democrat 2026 platform so far: - America is stolen land and we can’t have borders - if we don’t have borders, everyone is allowed to come here - if anyone is here, they’re allowed to access taxpayer funded services - because we shouldn’t have borders, we shouldn’t enforce immigration laws - America must be subjected to tariffs but cannot impose tariffs - Muslims can take over public spaces to pray but conservative groups cannot have high school or college clubs - you aren’t smart enough to homeschool your kids so you must send them to public schools where they won’t learn to read, do arithmetic, or think critically - the Department of Education is sacred - but kids will be taken out side to protest and shown sexually explicit materials - biological males can be women - women are a protected class and need special treatment, including trans women - you’re not paying enough in taxes - voting is a constitutional right and should have no requirements - gun ownership is a constitutional right that should be abolished, but until then should be highly restrictive and limited - women are smarter than men and that’s why so many of them get more college degrees than men - women are incapable of obtaining a valid ID to vote - law enforcement officers are going to be held accountable for enforcing the law - former military officers cannot be held accountable for violating the rules - going after political opponents, even if they broke the law, is illegal - as soon as Democrats are in power, they will go after their political opponents - using laws to prosecute ICE protesters is wrong - using laws to prosecute pro-life nuns is correct - uncovering fraud in NGOs, government agencies, welfare is wrong - wealth tax for “rich” people - there shouldn’t be billionaires - owning 4 homes doesn’t mean someone is rich - Republicans are racists - it’s okay to say racist things to black and brown Republicans and law enforcement - the Trump admin is covering up for pedophiles - the Biden admin couldn’t do anything with the Epstein files - we shouldn’t spend any money on detention centers for ICE - we should spend more money of government programs without fixing the fraud (see above) - Abolish ICE - Abolish the police - criminals aren’t bad, just misunderstood* - *unless they’re white, Right, or Christian - trans people are the real victims of trans killing people - it’s okay to vote “not guilty” if the defendant agrees with your politics or has your skin color - it’s okay to release violent criminals back on the streets if they’ve been arrested multiple times - it’s okay to hit law enforcement with your vehicle as long as you say “I’m not mad at you” first - understand that Jesus said “love everybody, welcome the stranger” but ignore everything else Jesus and the Bible said And that’s just off the top of my head. I’m sure I missed a few.

So the US knew that Ukraine would destroy Nord Stream 3 months before the attack happened? So why did our politicians and their stenographers in the media insist that Russia was behind the attack? Why did NATO use the attack to justify militarising the Baltic Sea and escalating the proxy war in Ukraine? Is this an admission that our governments are dishonest warmongers manipulating their own public? Also, it seems highly unlikely that the US did not participate in this attack and were unable to prevent it.
