@Ironicallyserio @RedSwirl Except this isn't the walled garden that console ecosystems are. The beauty is that this is simply an option among custom, higher performance PCs

@RedSwirl Almost as if that’s what console gamers have been saying for years only for PC people to rage about upgradability and performance. Nice to see that was all cope

I'm seeing multiple publications suggest alternative builds that technically outperform the Steam Machine for less but they're all regular Windows towers that are like 4x the size. Goes to show that you're paying extra for the form factor and UX.

@o_sneedy This is quite literally the "walkable city" they're always going on about. But they hate it because there's no Starbucks or Whole Foods.

@aalishamusic @damncindypeach You didn’t have to drop 700, but you could have given him SOMETHING. Maybe 50 dollars or help him find GoodRx coupons, to start. So could the other people who were there. If you really felt THAT bad you’d have tried to help him in someway other than posting about him online.

Crying while exiting a CVS Pharmacy because I had to witness an elderly man be denied his medication because he couldn’t afford it. He had to sit down because he was feeling so unwell. I hate this country.

@longagoinsantia @facesitter0_o @sippy77xx @_sn_n There's no requirement to "destroy" your body. It's entirely up to the person to decide. The reality is trans people are far happier once they can feel like themselves and it's those who ridicule and shame them that cause them active harm.

@Splash_Attack__ @facesitter0_o @sippy77xx @_sn_n You’re right in a way It’s very harmful to convince an unhappy person that they can be happy if they change themselves physically, destroying their body in the process But then again adults are responsible for their own decisions that harm them

@7orisu ORAS was pretty great but I gotta say the piss-easy leveling curve and handholding of later gens made it not nearly as satisfying as the original.

This and HGSS was the perfect example of making a good remake! Improving every aspect of the original, improving on the flaws, and adding new and returning features and enhancing the original story. ORAS is my favourite game for many reasons because of this..

@Nyremde @RCCailloux @princesalamwane Resorting to sleeping in front of a building means the system has already failed. Kicking them out of that place is just hiding the problem and punishing someone who is already suffering.

@AtnsXBT The battery died on my emerald cartridge when one of my pokemon had it. That means it never goes away, effectively letting it spread indefinitely to all of my pokemon

pokemon features that make everyone anxious. back in 1999, pokemon gold and silver introduced a secret mechanic that was even rarer than catching a shiny pokémon. it was an “anomaly” that genuinely terrified players. when you brought your pokemon to the pokemon center, nurse joy would sometimes give you worrying news that one of your pokemon had been infected with a mysterious virus. shortly after, professor elm would call you, warning that it was multiplying fast and could spread to other pokémon. this was the infamous “pokerus”. because information traveled slowly back then, wild rumors spread that pokerus was a dangerous glitch that would delete your save file or kill your pokémon. thousands of scared players actually released their beloved pokemon into the wild just to stop the “infection” from spreading. in reality, pokerus is an extremely rare hidden mechanic with odds of roughly 1 in 21,845, even rarer than a shiny. and despite being called a virus, it’s actually incredibly beneficial since it doubles the effort values (evs) your pokemon gains, making them grow much stronger. the number of days before a pokemon gets cured from pokerus vary from 1 up to 4 days. the pokemon still gains double effort values after the cure.

@CodingSwede @_Unknown_D_ How are you gonna cool all that hardware with no heat transfer medium? When there is a hardware fault, theres no way to replace components. There's also no way to upgrade any of it. Not to mention the cost is orders of magnitude higher than just putting it here on Earth.

It's in fact a genius idea. Solar power is actually worthwhile in space due to there not being an atmosphere between the panels and the sun. And since it will be connected to the Starlink system you can then quickly communicate with any user anywhere on earth. Most of the cost of compute is electricity. In space all you are paying for is hardware and repairs every x number of years.

@_Unknown_D_ SpaceX owns Starlink and they are about to add AI data centers in space to this network. This would massively lower cost of AI inference and make it possible for them to steal away customers from many existing providers.
