@bread_ @imluidji I believe good leaders shall bear responsibility for their actions. Setting long term rules affects many participants. If you change rules momentarily but refuse to bear responsibility - it is bad leadership and will negatively affect your project. It was better to ignore NFTs.

So far, the recent news have been a net negative for everyone who has been contributing, supporting or building on their chain. It doesn't matter which app you used or which NFT/token you bought, they're down tremendously since the recent announcement. Example: I was looking forward to the Season 2 of @playhuntertales so I bought some $CROWN and Hunters (NFTs). Now chances to see an S2 coming are all gone. I wish that was all: every single NFT they encouraged us to buy for pledge competition and points boost are all down between 30-60%. Portfolio on @TopStrikeIO is down 30-40% despite it going through some solid momentum with the WC 2026. All of this also add a major impact on the PA of $MEGA which is basically down ~60% from ATH in 3 weeks. On the building side, most dApps have lost the few users they worked hard to attract. Everyone is bridging out of them, and the chain because the sentiment is at its lowest since then. Only @Euphoria_fi, @beefyfinance and @aave seem to be spared from this. It took me a while to process this, so while I'm very happy that this will potentially benefit MegaETH long-term, that decision completely disregarded their community and users who are left out with nothing but a net loss on every asset they held. I will be happy to QRT with a more positive POV if the compensation I'll receive from the foundation next week will make up to it.

The changing of plans and that impact on users and apps is not lost on us. I think the discussion would benefit from understanding what these decisions mean operationally for us, though, and how that translates to a better outcome for both users and apps. First, I want to orient towards Terminal as a product (not a program). We received a lot of compliments on the aesthetic, the features, the function and overall how it came together. Many of us felt the same internally. Not perfect by any means, but novel, fun and quality. A small team was dedicated to just that. They are now freed up internal resources. Also freed up: → Engineers managing the weekly database updates, SDK updates and prod pushes → Data team tracking onchain behaviors, points distributions and calibrations. → Marketing, BD and ecosystem teams coordinating all of these changes with the 50+ teams either included or in discussions That is all to say that, especially for a lean team like Mega, keeping a program like Terminal going on time and energy resources alone was not a small effort. This decision was made not only because the spend was not justified in a literal rewards sense, but also a time and energy resource sense. We can now direct those things in an opinionated fashion to what you, as users, called out during the campaign. Many thought the Terminal experience was good-to-great, but the ultimate landing spot (the apps) weren't up to the same quality. So we put more time and energy into: → Curating ambitious founders and novel apps → Creating more-pointed GTM and campaign programs for specific apps → Creating net-new distribution channels for our ecosystem → Uplifting the entire ecosystem with products like MOSS SDK and, eventually, M(OS)S. More of the non-scalable things we've executed on well to get to this point and the reason you believed in Mega in the first place. Anyways, bringing it all back around, I just want to say that I hear you. We hear you. These decisions aren't made lightly but we believe our ability to evaluate and adjust dynamically on new information is very much a strength of ours, even if it comes with friction. All this decision does is acknowledge the realities of 2026 for generalized campaigns and re-focus us on what has always mattered: apps and a unified, first party experience built atop the most performant generalized execution environment in existence. They all have unique dependencies, either on each other (World <> HIt), the chain (Euphoria), offchain entities (Brix) or literally just design iterations needed for something with no blueprint. Trust me - we worked very hard to try and get as many ready to go on our dates as possible, and even moved our dates to accommodate, but there are far (far) more dependencies to starting an ecosystem than anyone on the timeline can possibly fathom. Honestly. So we gave as much time as we could while managing prior commitments and internal/external expectations, worked to coordinate and then ultimately shipped. Is what it is.

In fact, we are re-emphasizing our efforts on apps because we recognize that that is how we win. The problem is that we evaluated Terminal data and saw that it wasn't the best deployment of our time and resources. Our superpower, right now, is the stuff that doesn't scale: Hands-on product feedback personalized GTM. We drifted to far from that, saw it, and are now going back to it. It doesn't mean programs and campaigns stop going forward - it just means they're more opinionated than Terminal was (and how we used to do them). The problem wasn't solely inorganic activity, but it was a factor. The problem is that in 2026 we weren't able to attract the good activity with the inorganic activity. It was disproportionate and a bad influence on our apps. because some of the cited dependencies depend on a live ecosystem? How are oracle stability, TVL and Bridge liquidity going to change in a closed ecosystem? The point is that there is literally never a perfect time and some things require a live system to even be discovered. So you ship with what makes sense and grow.

An open letter to MegaETH team - Most of apps/nfts yesterday were fucked - Any long/mid/short plan to approach to the ecosystem totally died This is the proof below:

It's just very hard to coordinate ambitious projects around a singular day, week and even month. There are just way too many dependencies for novel applications. Liquidity, oracles, design iterations, market data, etc, etc. This applies to us and launching the chain as well - lots of things come up that no one anticipates. Perfect world everyone can synchronize but it just wasn't the reality, so we gave teams their time

Have to ask, after so many months in prod, why was almost no “mafia” dapp ready to go at launch outside of basic amm and Avon vault that had no yield sources beyond an un-incentivized aave pool and was forced to close? Seems odd to command that presale fdv when the presumption from marketing was that there was an ecosystem waiting to be unleased day 1, but it was just a couple of amm’s, perp dexes with no differentiation or user acquisition plan, and some gambling. No idea why aave was not subsidized à la Ink gameplan to kickstart the defi flywheel with P2P payments and some semi-exotic defi to highlight usdm as well.

It's crazy that a 250B asset needs "redemption." Who's to say it's not accurately priced? MegaETH by itself won't save it. No external execution environment will. We'll expand the surface area of ETH because we use it as gas, but ETH the asset only wins if Ethereum can attend on its own and escape the revenue chain comparisons narratively. That might only come when Bitcoin faces existential threats with security budget, Saylor and/or quantum risks and that cohort of users is forced to answer the question of "what's the next best asset for my thesis?" (it was always ETH)
