@shegone03 @MLB More so hitters crowd the plate in today’s game because of protective equipment and smaller strike zones and pitchers inability to get in there effectively. Increased velocity could certainly be leading to hitters having to open earlier

@MattGross87 @waddlehouse17 I think if you watch the replay his footwork was pretty terrible getting into throwing position and just wasn’t able to get much on it. Blame the footwork, not so much the arm.

@waddlehouse17 A) I've routinely seen him display better arm strength than he has the last few days in both the majors and minors.

Roman Anthony's arm was way, way better last year compared to what we've seen on these first few plays of 2026. None of the possible reasons for this are good.

@HankSilverberg There are what 8-10 years left on this deal? With an AAV of like 7.5M, and 1 WAR averaging 8-9M, he has plenty of time to make this contract look good for Red Sox. You can argue it hasn’t worked in their favor yet, but certainly have not been burned yet

The Milwaukee Brewers are on the verge of finalizing an 8-year deal for slightly more than $50 million with 21-year prized shortstop prospect Cooper Pratt, who had not played above Class AA until this year. The deal will include two option years for about $15 million a year.
