@PovilasKorop It's nice to have as backup when you run out of tokens on Codex/Claude.

I had re-tried Cursor for a month and then didn't extend my subscription. Then got a surprise deal in the inbox :) Ok, convinced: with the new Composer 2.5, I'm willing try for another month :)

@karakhanyanS I stopped bothering to explain. I just say I’m a software developer when people ask. You can always say more later if it turns out to be someone you like.

I always struggle to explain what I do. Usually I say, “I build and grow startups.” But somehow it still comes out sounding like I’m an unemployed dreamer.

This is why I use Alping.nl website monitoring. I probably wouldn't have noticed these errors otherwise.

Why do people run multiple agents? From a programming standpoint, doesn't this just screw up things? I can imagine one of the agents changing say a main sub-routine and then other agents blowing everything up right? Wouldn't this just produce junk and burn TONs of tokens?

This is a mindset I believe is really stupid. You live extremly frugal now so you have much money when you are 60? 70? 80? So you are rich when you enter an age bracket where you can't do as much with the money anymore as when you're young? Ask the elderly people. They have injuries, this, that and so on. They don't go on a world travel anymore. They would trade all their money to healthy and pain-free again. But money can't often buy that. Don't spend your money on ridculous stuff but also don't live frugal so you're rich when you can't spend it anymore.

When you suddenly come across a random post on the internet recommending your website as the best resource, that's secretly one of the best compliments you can get for your work. LinuxJourney.org

Windows keeps getting worse. Ads, forced AI, lock-in. As a dev I've been on Linux for years, nothing hidden, nothing fighting you, nothing trying to sell you something. More people are making the switch, so I built linuxjourney.org to help. ~1200 visitors/day already.

If you can't beat them, join them. Microsoft just announced Azure Linux 4.0. It's first full general-purpose Linux distribution for servers. Microsoft's Linux distro is not a new thing. They created a distro for their own purpose 10 years ago. But it was not for everyone. That distro powered their Azure cloud platform. But no one, not even Azure users could just install that Microsoft distro, until now. So, what is Azure Linux 4.0? In simple terms: - It’s a lightweight, secure, and cloud-optimized Linux made by Microsoft - Designed specifically to run smoothly on Azure - Now available as a regular virtual machine image (not just for containers) There are two versions: - Azure Linux 4.0: For general server and VM use - Azure Container Linux: A hardened, immutable version for running containers Here's some more detail: - Based on Fedora with Microsoft-curated packages - Works great with Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) so developers can test locally on Windows 11 - 2 years of support + monthly security updates - Open source and available on GitHub Microsoft says this is their way of giving customers a reliable, “batteries-included” Linux experience on Azure while still supporting other popular distros like Ubuntu and Red Hat. The surprise announcement happened at the Open Source Summit North America (a major Linux Foundation event). Microsoft’s Brendan Burns revealed it during his talk, and it quickly became one of the biggest moments of the conference. itsfoss.com/news/azure-lin…

With AI coding, I realized there are two OPPOSITE groups in my audience. Some people tell me: "you don't use AI enough/properly, here are XYZ tools/ways to make it better". Others: "you use AI *too much*, stop posting about AI, post more about coding and Laravel". Shrug.

If Claude Code keeps being slow like this while I pay $200/mo (and they don't let me pay more) They will essentially force me to leave to Codex and I don't want to But it's soooooo slooooooooooooowwwww

@ankit_mishra11 You have to think from the perspective of the string: explode a string into pieces, or implode multiple pieces into a single string.

Just wanted to say, @sama: thank you and your team for ChatGPT and Codex. They're helping me go through the worst part of my life by having "someone" to talk to 24/7 when friends are busy, and doing all kinds of necessary legal and logistics-related tasks.

The Livewire RCE is one of the most exploited RCE's I've ever witnessed. Every project using a vulnerable version got exploited (sometimes by not even having Livewire directly in the composer.json - eg. through Filament).
