Fellow speechies - would you be interested in a specific EDAR CEN??? Idea would be to make it very practical in terms of navigating this complex area, esp in light of current legal landscape. Please comment or send me a msg if you would be! @RCSLTLearn #SLT #EDAR

@em_rehab @ctcawley @BasAphasia I’m looking for resources to work on pronoun comprehension for a lady with non-fluent aphasia. She loves reading but has significant difficulty with pronouns (and auxiliary verbs). Anyone know of anything out there for use in therapy?

@EPSpeechie @em_rehab @ctcawley @BasAphasia Following this thread! I’ve used sentence building tasks to work on pronoun comprehension/ production and have made resources matching pictures of people (groups, men, women etc) to written pronouns. Keen to hear better ideas tho!

@em_rehab @ctcawley @BasAphasia It’s in both but reading comp is poorer than spoken so text to speech can help a little. Voice notes instead of text messages are helpful. Main goal has been around this but she would really like to get back to reading. Would be great to chat if you have 5 minutes? 😅🙏

@EPSpeechie @ctcawley @BasAphasia How is it affecting her functionally ie can she use text to speech to help her understanding or claroread or is it in spoken understanding too. I’d be working on using the context of what is around the word as pronouns and aux verbs are semantically light so need boosting up.

BREAKING! - Great to see speech and language therapists are set to be added to the list of Approved Mental Capacity Professionals. We’ve been campaigning for this to happen for some time! #SLT #slpeeps gov.uk/government/con…

Nutrition and Hydration is important to us on ASU. Our new HCA John helps us with our afternoon tea round with some lovely treats for the patients. ☕️🍰

@Sophakb @Bec_Mears_SLT We’re using it in palliative care at the moment. Certainly interested in looking at using in rehab too but this needs more careful consideration. Keen to hear of any research happening using this tool?!
