Is this the traditional 4% rule that draws down the principal over 30 years? If so, then effective investment (even conservative ones generating a few percent yield) should fairly safely preserve that principal or increase the annual income, if one earns greater than the 4% draw down.

THEM: "How much money would I need to retire right now?" ME: "It depends." THEM: "Oh come on, just give me an estimate." ME: *sighs* "Fine." $1 million for $40k annual income. $1.5 million for $60k annual income. $2 million for $80k annual income. $2.5 million for $100k annual income. $3 million for $120k annual income. $3.75 million for $150k annual income. $5 million for $200k annual income.

Dirty Hands Clean Money. It’s Sunday and I came to get this overtime. My competition is resting. I’m out here grinding Emergency calls/ everyone else is scheduling for Monday. But I show up today. This is all so I can stack more Bitcoin for my son and I. As his father I tell him every morning I’m going out to make our family name proud. That it’s on us to break this curse. We are a team and I’ll always have his back. Stack for your last name. Save the Bloodline.

It’s funny. Now that I’m opening my own clinic, I’ve never wanted to practice medicine more! No more hospital administrator looking over my shoulder. No more dealing with insurance. I get to make all of the decisions, and I’m barely going to have to touch a keyboard or a mouse. I just get to take care of patients which is my fundamental calling. It’s unreal, and I can’t tell you how excited I am to finally practice medicine on my own terms!

“Nobody wants to work anymore.” Wrong. People just do not want to: - Work 60 hours and still be broke - Miss their kids growing up - Get raises smaller than inflation - Save in a currency printed out of thin air - Answer emails on weekends - Get replaced the second margins get tight - Spend half their paycheck on rent - Need debt just to survive - Watch groceries, insurance, and housing go up faster than their income People do not hate work. They hate giving everything and getting nowhere.

Elimination (or at least severe reduction) of taxes (not just income taxes) may be possible if government generates alternative revenue and eliminates wasteful spending, eliminates fraud, and eliminates spending on things that taxpayers don't agree with. If they can't do that (yet), wonder if eliminating income taxes even if it meant shifting it to consumption (sales) taxes can give the taxpayer more control of what taxes (and how much) to pay.

Been going on for ages. At this point, who could realistically stop this? The powerful and elite generally do what they can to protect their privileged positions, often at the cost to the populace. Governments print money and misuse tax dollars. Politicians insider trade. Authorities are not sufficiently preventing fraud and scams that cost honest taxpayers billions if not more. Taxpayers seem to get punished while scammers and fraudsters flourish.

Exactly. Frustrating but unfortunately not surprising. It seems quite normal for tax authorities to claim penalties and charge interest to taxpayers the whole time that they (tax authorities) DIDN'T even send a notice for months or over a year. Meanwhile governments misuse tax revenue (remember what Elon and DOGE revealed in the short time DOGE was uncovering these) and print more and more money, politicians insider trade, authorities do not nearly enough to stop or prevent scams and fraud that come out of tax dollars, etc. Seems to punish the taxpayers and reward the scammers and fraudsters.

I got audited for 2022 taxes and the IRS told me I owed like 17,000 in taxes. I didn't owe them anything. I sent every piece of evidence and written explanations of every dollar. The rejected my response, charged more interest and said I owed them 19k now. Even though it took them 11 months to respond. Had to get a CPA to send a response saying the same thing I said. Cost me $2k for that. Just got a letter which basically says, ahh.. nevermind.. we are closing the audit. Very happy I don't have to pay off the US government to get them to leave me alone. Not very happy I can't bill them the $2k and about 4 fulls days of my own labor that I had to spend to tell them they are incompetent.

What's the solution? So many things that enrich those in power are supported and perpetuated by those same in power to remain in power, at the cost of those not in said power. Ought to spend as much effort to prevent fraud as is spent going after taxes. Ought to assist honest taxpayers instead of imposing penalties and interest for minor errors resulting in a negligible payment shortages, then sending letters months or over a year later while accruing interest the whole time. Isn't the government supposed to protect and act in the interest of its law-abiding taxpayers?

Let me get this straight - In 1913, zero American families paid income tax. - In 2025, every family paid income tax, and about 2/3rds of it just covered fraud. We have become a tax-farm for politicians to enrich themselves and anyone who they can import to vote for them

this is shocking: > US collects $2.4T in income tax, but spends $1.5T on fraud > if we didn't have to pay for fraud, only $900b would need to be collected > this means anyone with less 500k in income could pay *literally $0* in income tax we don't need to raise taxes. we need to cut fraud

I’m seriously in tears behind all this fraud stuff. I honestly feel like my government is trying to steal all of my money and ruin my life so they can give it to charlatans. I can’t be the only one that feels like this. I’m now $30k in debt because I had to borrow money to pay my taxes and medical expenses. But foreigners come here and get funding, exemptions, and benefits. It’s just so unfair. I try to help mend families and I take care of seniors. But I’m probably never going to get out from under this debt because my government won’t let me. It’s so frustrating.

This is my son. He is almost 16 and wants a vehicle. I refuse to buy him one and told him he needs to pay for it himself. He got a job as a rec basketball league referee and quickly realized how long it would take to save up enough money to get a $3k car making $12/hour. Then I showed him some cooler $6k options on Bring a Trailer and he got the itch to make more money. I gave him countless ideas to pursue. He wasn't feeling any of them. Then I decided to show him some podcast episodes from @mhp_guy (he's listened to some from Chris before and was a fan). No ideas were really hitting home until he heard an episode between Chris and @ShannonJean about reselling. He fell in love. So I showed him a few more and he was convinced that that was the route he should take. We started browsing B-Stock and then realized we need a state tax license and some other stuff so we got that all set up. Then we browsed some more. Endless deals. We settled on buying 115 rugs at an average of $13/rug after shipping. They're all Costco returns. Various sizes, some in better condition than others. He now has to figure out how to sell all these through my Facebook Marketplace account. I won't be helping him at all, other than answering questions and casually giving him strategic ideas here and there. If he can sell the rugs at an average price of $35 (keep in mind some are brand new and are 10' x 14' large), he'll make $2500 in profit. Then we can start car shopping :). P.S. Chris and Shannon - thanks for the motivation!!!
