@annemargaretj @liberal_party So many avenues of support for the disabled closed if they can't qualify for the Disability Tax Credit. One example: parents can't set up a Henson Trust for a disabled adult child without it.

The majority of disabled Canadians can’t even apply for the tax credit b/c they don’t have a dr or their dr wont fill out all the paperwork. Even then most get rejected. The @liberal_party promised to get us out of poverty but even if we can get it $200/month is an insult.

@GadSaad If you're in Toronto, you could consider donating the books to the library's Book Ends stores (one is at the Toronto Reference Library, another in North York). They sell books and other media to raise money for library initiatives. Other cities may have something similar.

I took 18 books to a used bookstore to receive some minimal store credits in exchange. They gave me $0 for 18 books! Second time this happens. Does not generate goodwill when I’m trying to support them.

@KarenFactsLover As far as I know, only one Toronto city councillor (Ausma Malik) wears a hijab. I don't know if she's one of the people in the photo. Maybe they're councillors' staff or other city staff.

@Mostafa09212 @Oceanbreeze473 In some countries women have to wear hijabs/burkas or are beaten or even killed. That's not choice. Even in Canada where there's supposed to be choice, a young girl was murdered by the men in her family for not wearing hijab to school.

As a woman who reveres the early female suffragists who stood up for our rights, I absolutely deplore and reject that view.
