Ethiopia is a land of many heroes who have strengthened the country through generational continuity. The Special Operations Command of the Defense Forces, over the past 65 years, has carried out outstanding missions that have made Ethiopia proud, demonstrating unbreakable resilience through numerous challenges. Currently, through defense reform efforts, the command has been reorganized in a modern manner in terms of structure, manpower, and equipment, incorporating airborne, commando, and special counter-terrorism forces. It stands in a reliable position to carry out its duties effectively at any time and under any conditions. As the command celebrated its 65th anniversary, it publicly showcased the modern military capabilities it has built, the readiness of its personnel, and its tactical proficiency. In particular, the integrated water-borne exercise shown today, as well as the various military skills demonstrated in coordination by airborne and commando members, confirmed the high level of capability of the armed forces.

here's the thing. I love what Dawit has been doing, I admire him. We need more people like him in Ethiopia that believe in peaceful co-existence & mutual respect! I also appreciate what he's trying to do in this specific case. However, many are mischaracterizing the picture by students for their own agenda. Eritreans will not be silenced from telling their story for fear of antagonizing someone. We're the victims here!
The student told his story thru the picture, a story of oppression, plunder & murderous conquest by successive Ethiopian regimes. Mind you, these regimes have neither benefited Eritrea nor Ethiopians, they merely held the people hostage in endless war agenda.
Instead of focusing on that, some people want re-frame it into something it is not. What's laughable is that they brag that they "will turn to us" if such thing is not "corrected" or whatever. True warmonger mentality! A picture made them feel angry, but imagine the decades of killings, rape, plunder, subjugation that Eritreans have experienced at the hands of these warlords such as Hailesilase! What a crazy world we live in!

I write this with respect and with full awareness that I cannot fully grasp the depth of pain and betrayal many Eritreans feel toward the quisling prince of Ethiopia, the Sick of the Horn of Africa, especially after Eritrea helped prevent the collapse of his regime. That wound is real. Yet I worry that desecrating the Ethiopian flag shifts attention away from Abiy Ahmed himself and hands him a weapon he does not deserve. He, not the Ethiopian people, is the principal source of instability in the region. He has already isolated himself from Eritrea, from neighbors across the Horn, and from key constituencies within Ethiopia. There is no need to rescue him from that isolation by allowing him to wrap himself in injured nationalism. If the goal is accountability and regional stability, then keep the focus where it belongs. Isolate him further. Do not give him symbolic ammunition that can be turned into political oxygen.

The #Ethiopia'n foreign minister's letter is apparently addressed to #Eritrea's foreign minister. However, I see no reports of #PP regime officials handing over the letter to Eritrean officials. How did the warmonger, coward, pathological liar @AbiyAhmedAli's lackeys hand over the letter? Did the foreign minister literally just post it online? It wouldn't surprise me - NOT because of their incompetency BUT because #AbiyAhmed regime only wants to plant a pretext for his war agenda, regardless of how untrue the allegations are and inspite of the fact that the whole world knows he wants to annex Eritrean territory. #AbiyRegimeIsCriminal is strictly in the business of war!!
