For over a month, Congressional Democrats have kept the Department of Homeland Security partially shut down. At a time when threats against the United States are increasing, this political stunt is reckless. The danger we face today did not appear overnight. Millions of illegal aliens entered the United States under the Biden Administration with no proper vetting process. Some are violent criminals. Some are members of dangerous gangs such as MS-13 and Tren de Aragua. Others may have ties to terrorist organizations. It only takes one to carry out a deadly attack. That is why weakening our homeland security infrastructure right now is so irresponsible. Yet Democrats in Congress are doing exactly that. It was great to tour the Novonesis facility and see the innovative biotechnology work happening right here in Wisconsin. It’s fantastic to see a manufacturer that supports hundreds of local jobs is expanding. As a Member of Congress, I will continue supporting efforts to ensure America remains a leader in biotechnology and is not overtaken by competitors like China.

Failure to advertise all-in rent prices undermines consumer choice and harms competition. I commend the @FTC for beginning this rulemaking process to address unfair or deceptive fees in rental housing.

As it stands, I am concerned that this bill would do little to boost the supply of housing. The House and Senate should work together to get a bill signed into law that delivers more homes for working families.

Senate Democrats once again blocked the DHS funding bill that @HouseGOP passed. We are now on day 24 of this partial shutdown. It’s absolutely ridiculous that the Democrats are prioritizing protecting illegal aliens at a time when Iran and its terrorist proxies are threatening retaliation against the United States.

Rest in peace to a legend, Lou Holtz. A great football coach, phenomenal speaker, and one of the best storytellers around. I was fortunate to meet him on multiple occasions and deeply enjoyed our conversations. Thinking of Lou’s family and friends during this difficult time.

Despite the undeniable increase in terrorist threats at the border and within the interior of the United States during the Biden Administration, then-Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas repeatedly misled @JudiciaryGOP and the American people by claiming that aliens entering our country were being properly vetted. This was a lie. Under the leadership of the Trump Administration and @Sec_Noem, everyone coming to the United States is now properly vetted. What a concept!

Had a great meeting with North Shore Bank in Brookfield. We discussed the current state of the economy and the upcoming @FinancialCmte hearing on Thursday focused on fighting fraud on the front lines.

When it comes to legal justification for these strikes, I stand with @POTUS 100%, as I firmly believe in the authority granted under Article II of the United States Constitution. It’s been used by presidents of both parties over the years. There are a number of things that must remain close to the vest in any military operation. Surprise is a major component of a successful operation.

Chancellor Merz’s visit to the U.S. next week is an opportunity for an honest conversation about how American technology companies are treated in Germany and across the EU.
