Save Tameside Greenbelt 🍃💚🍃

It is absolutely not true, @BBCr4today Gtr Mcr has sufficient suitable, available & achievable brownfield to meet gov targets but have still released over 2,000 ha GBelt! This is about profiteering from our green spaces, not about housing NEED! @SGMGB2017

@AngelaRayner @Keir_Starmer How many social houses will be on godley green if it goes ahead ? In your contituency? ... NONE . Did you not campaign against using greenbelt? Absolute hypocrisy! You are not listening and its appaling!

Seen as no 106 agreements have been put in place yet and only outline planning has been put in place i assume you'll be updating your council to ensure brownfield first and more social Homes?

So @AngelaRayner your own constituency of Tameside has a massive plan to build on its greenbelt despite the constituency not being listened to , despite there being no social homes. Also no talk of brownfield first .. continued in comments

Northern rail have already said they couldnt put extra carriages on or extra trains because its a single track line and there is no where to store any extra carriages. But we are ignored! But building a bridge between godley and the train station is adequate infrastructure 😖

So no actual protection for Green Belt then!

So here is @AngelaRayner protesting to save the greenbelt,but now she’s deputy prime minister she’s complicit in allowing the greenbelt in her area Tameside to be built on? Godley green is not grey belt! So how does that work? @BBCNews @itvnews

@AngelaRayner hands off our greenbelt !!! (Or greybelt as you like to call it). You want to build 1223 houses a year in Tameside when generally there is around 450 Built a year! All a ploy to get at our greenbelt. Where are all the trademen to build these houses ?

This is how @TamesideCouncil treat their community! They don’t care about the environment when wanting to concrete over our countryside. Its just words and lies . 4200 people tried to make a difference and they was IGNORED!

@Keir_Starmer Does this look like a car park to you? Tameside LABOUR council want to build on it. Its green belt!! NO BROWNFIELD FIRST in place at all . Talk of compulsory purchases if landowners don’t want to sell. Feel free to contact me and come and check this grey belt out !!

My Labour government will build on brownfield land first and make sure green spaces are protected. But it’s not right that places like disused car parks are designated as green belt while so many people need the security of their own home.

@CAupdates Tameside Council support building on our greenbelt too . Their ‘Think Green’ campaign’ is absolutely laughable!
