When I hear my fellow citizens say that our democracy has died or that thereโs no point in continuing the fight, Iโd ask them to consider that the people of Hungary never gave up hope. Even after 15 years of authoritarianism. Thinking of the people of Hungary today.

The most annoying thing about being human on Earth right now is the absolute waste of potential.
Brilliant minds and artists could be solving world hunger, climate change, and ending cancer, etc.
We could house, feed, clothe, and care for everyone.
But instead, weโve decided to let a handful of asshats become billionaires, start wars, murder and imprison people, and keep the majority in poverty while ruining the climate.
Itโs so stupid. The wasted ingenuity hurts to think about.

I built CourtWatch.us โ a free public database for American citizens who deserve safer communities.
You can track which judges released defendants who then got rearrested, skipped court, or violated their release conditions. All public records. All free.
I started with Orange County FL and will be expanding to all 67 Florida counties and eventually every state in the country. This first batch of info is from 2024 and since public reports are released in March/April for the previous year, data is behind. But I wanted to see if this is plausible. After adding 2024,I'll add 2025 and then figure out how to get real-time-data uploaded.
It's in beta โ would love to know what you think ๐
Numbers don't lie, but criminals do.

I was thirty-something years old when Iranian students dragged me into a room and told me I wasn't going anywhere. Four hundred and forty-four days later, I walked out. I've spent the decades since trying to make sense of what happened โ and what keeps happening โ between our two countries.
So don't talk to me about Iran like it's an abstraction. I lived inside that confrontation. I felt it.
Which is why I'm not ready to write off this ceasefire, even though everything about it is maddening.
Negotiations in Pakistan may produce nothing. The talks could collapse before they get started. I've seen American diplomacy with Iran fail more times than I can count, and usually for the same reasons โ too much pride, too little patience, and Israel holding a match in the corner of the room.
But here's what I know in my bones: another war won't break Iran. We just tried. It didn't work. Iran doesn't break โ it absorbs, it adapts, and it waits. I watched that stubbornness up close for 444 days.
What bothers me most isn't that Iran is winning this moment โ it's that we handed it to them. Tehran's framework is running these negotiations. Iran still controls the Strait of Hormuz. Still collecting tolls. Trump looked at their proposal and called it workable. I never thought I'd see the day, but here we are.
Iran wants everything on the table โ sanctions, enrichment rights, American troops out, and a deal that covers what's happening in Lebanon and Gaza too. That's a lot to swallow. And Israel, which wasn't invited to this conversation, is already making clear it has no intention of being constrained by it.
That's the part that worries me the most. Because if Israel keeps bombing and Washington can't or won't stop it, none of this holds.
And yet โ and I say this as someone who has every reason to distrust Tehran โ I don't think we go back to all-out war. Not because anyone has suddenly gotten wise, but because the math doesn't work. A second round ends the same way. Iran still controls the Strait. The global economy still flinches when Tehran flexes.
What we're heading toward isn't peace. It's something smaller and more precarious โ two countries silently agreeing not to destroy each other today, with no paperwork and no guarantees.
I know what it's like to survive on something that fragile. For 444 days, that's all I had.

The disclosure sequence here is what courts care about.
DOGE gets access to Social Security data. Court blocks it. Supreme Court allows it to resume. Then DOJ admits it gave the court incorrect information during those proceedings. Then discloses: unauthorized server used for the data, and a secret agreement with a political group to analyze voter data tied to overturning election results.
The conduct was happening while the court was deciding whether to allow the conduct. The incorrect information was provided while the court was making that decision.
The Fourth Circuit sent it back down for a fresh look with the newly disclosed facts included. It flagged "even more alarming" developments it didn't detail. The case now goes to discovery - meaning the full scope of the agreement, who the political group was, and what they did with the data, will be subject to legal compulsion.
Social Security numbers. Medical records. Financial records. Millions of Americans. A secret political operation. Courts told something incorrect during the proceedings.
The Fourth Circuit called it alarming. It said so twice.

NEW: A case challenging DOGEโs access to Social Security data has been sent back to a lower court after "alarming" new evidence revealed personnel of the faux-agency may have worked with an outside political group challenging election results โ a fact not disclosed during earlier proceedings. democracydocket.com/news-alerts/doโฆ
