PRAYING that Joe Schoen made his last draft pick as the general manager of the Giants today. John Harbaugh needs to wipe out him, the entire front office, and the entire scouting department. Fresh start. Bring in your own guys who have worked in the Ravens, Eagles, or Chargers’ front offices. My top GM target would be Alec Halaby, the assistant GM of the Eagles.

I just can’t buy into the Giants planning to keep him at off-ball LB. There’s no way that they don’t plan to move him out to the edge. John Harbaugh and Joe Schoen passed on an elite off-ball coverage LB prospect and an elite DB chess piece prospect in favor of a good-not-great LB prospect who can’t cover, if that’s really their plan for him.

I watched JC Davis late once I saw he was a top 30 visit. Big dude with long arms. Nasty as hell. Similar to Mauigoa when it comes to how powerful he is once he's clamped on to you. Great drive blocker. Bit of a waist bender. Slow footwork. He's going to be a good LG project for the Giants to work on.

I’d give the Giants an ‘A’ for this draft. Here are some of my nitpicks, though: - Heartbreaking that we didn’t get Caleb Downs and let him go to the Cowboys, also stings that Sonny Styles went to the Commanders. - They better be confident in Francis Mauigoa’s back. If it’s nothing serious, then it’s a great pick. - Arvell Reese needs to be a full-time edge rusher by 2027 at the latest. If he’s not, then I don’t think it makes any sense to take him over Sonny Styles, who was the far superior off-ball LB prospect, or even Caleb Downs for that matter. Reese’s ceiling lies on the edge, point blank. - Another year with no trade-downs stings, especially if we had an offer to move down from 5. - Not trading Kayvon Thibodeaux sucks. - Malachi Fields trade-up was rich, and I really don’t like dipping into our 2027 draft capital, but I’ve come around on the move for the most part. The expectation for him, however, is to be a solid WR2 and nothing less than that, considering what we gave up for him. - Love the Colton Hood pick. I was between him and Christen Miller at 37. Sucks that we got jumped for Kayden McDonald, though. - Better be the last draft that Joe Schoen is the GM for.

Malachi Fields is a solid pick, but you gave up a shit ton and passed on Chris Bell, Ted Hurst, Zachariah Branch, and Elijah Sarratt if you were gonna take a WR. You HAVE to trade Kayvon Thibodeaux now.

Overall, I really liked this Giants draft. Just a few things I didn’t like: 1. Passing up on Caleb Downs, and it doesn’t help that he went to the Cowboys. 2. Dipping into 2027 draft capital… I don’t care if we’re in line to get a compensatory, late 4th-round pick next year. Having a surplus of picks is an amazing thing. 3. Not trading back at all… specifically from Pick 5. 4. Not trading Kayvon Thibodeaux.

You may or may not like Joe Schoen, but one thing he seems to have a good sense about is when players will go in the draft. We saw this in Hard Knocks, we saw this with the Dart trade, and Harbaugh commented on it yesterday. #NYGiants take Mauigoa and nine more OLs go after him before Giants pick again (counting Bisontis in round 2). Giants take Hood as 3rd CB off the board and then a run starts on CBs. Giants trade up for Fields and take him as 10th WR selected. After that, seven more WRs get drafted in the third round.

If Jermod McCoy is one of those fallers like Trey Smith, someone whose medicals are going to make him freefall and there's legitimate risk he won't be able to play, I would strongly hope the Giants spend a 6th (you have 3 of them!) on him if he's there. In fact, since we all think the 4th rounders this year "due to the NIL" are all future car salesmen, someone should be spending a pick on him NOW. The risk/reward at this point is crazy.
