The Financial Times is reporting something that should be front-page news everywhere.       Pete Hegseth didn’t just help design the Iran war. He championed it publicly, cheered it on, and sold it to the American people. And according to the Financial Times, while his own department was in the final stages of preparing to launch it, his broker at Morgan Stanley was attempting to make a multimillion-dollar investment in the defense companies that build the weapons we used to fight it.       The investment didn’t ultimately go through, but only because the fund wasn’t yet available on Morgan Stanley’s platform. Not because anyone stopped it.      If these reports are accurate, the Secretary of Defense was positioned to profit from a war he helped start, using information no private investor could ever have. That is a profound betrayal of every service member he commands, and of every American who trusted this Administration with their national security.      No one should be cashing in on privileged information while lives and national security are on the line.

🚨 Bought an “AS-IS” Car and It Broke Down Days Later? You Are Entitled to Compensation - High Court Speaks Buyers who have suffered losses after purchasing “AS-IS” vehicles now have fresh hope. In Best Cars Limited t/a Impact Motors v Omoke & another, the High Court has delivered a major blow to car dealers who hide behind “AS-IS” clauses. The buyers purchased a Volkswagen Golf KCK 790E for KSh 630,000, after a 50-meter test drive at the yard. The dealer insisted the car was in perfect working condition and sold it “AS-IS.” But the very next day, the vehicle developed serious mechanical problems, forcing the buyers to spend KSh 400,000 on repairs. The Small Claims Court ruled in favour of the buyers, and the dealer appealed, arguing that once a car is sold “AS-IS”, the buyer bears the risk. Justice L. P. Kassan rejected that argument and upheld the award. The court relied heavily on Section 16(b) of the Sale of Goods Act, which provides that where goods are sold by description, there is an implied condition that they must be of merchantable quality. The judge found that a 50-meter test drive could not reveal latent defects, especially where the buyers were not mechanical experts and could not conduct a proper road test because the vehicle lacked insurance. The court further held that “AS-IS” does not protect a seller from hidden defects that could not reasonably be discovered during inspection. Since major parts like the gearbox, ignition coils, radiator fans and water pump failed almost immediately, the court concluded the car was faulty at the point of sale. This is a huge warning to car dealers, and a big win for ordinary Kenyans. The judgment makes it clear that “AS-IS” is not a magic shield. If you sell a vehicle described as roadworthy or in proper condition, the law still imposes implied obligations under Section 16 of the Sale of Goods Act. Even after inspection, buyers remain protected from latent defects. In simple terms: you cannot sell a broken car, hide behind “AS-IS”, and walk away. The High Court dismissed the appeal with costs, reinforcing a powerful message: contracts matter, but fairness and consumer protection matter even more. Kindly retweet widely🙏🙏

This is what happens when an Iranian missile, with a 100 kg warhead and cluster munitions, strikes the civilian heart of Tel Aviv. Imagine the global outrage if this was London, Paris or Berlin. Yet because it’s the Jewish state, the world is SILENT!

A client wants to buy a car . You consent and sign that you've allowed the inspection . Client pays someone to do the inspection of that car. If you want a copy , then you talk to the client as (s)he is the legal owner of the services given. (S)he is the one who paid.
Tom Goko@tom_goko

@MaryKwamboks My simple question, why would someone come to do a pre purchase inspection on my vehicle & not give me a copy of the report findings? To my observation, this omission is grossly unacceptable & inappropriate! A copy of the report findings MUST be left with the vehicle owner.

@4Real_KE I just thought it was nice to inform the property owner if they property has some shortcoming so they can repair them but i also understand your point of view, you are there for your client not a showroom but if you give alternative units and act as a broker then that is a joke.
