If this ceasefire becomes formalized and lasts, This is the worst of all outcomes for the Gulf states and especially for Dubai. Iran has come out from this war still intact and has now set the precedent that it can mollywhop and psychologically harass their economies whenever it feels like it. This guarantees they will shed influence and capital to East + Southeast Asia, which now looks even safer by default.

Facial reconstruction of a 11,250-year-old man from Nigeria The Iwo Eleru rock shelter in Nigeria, excavated in 1965, yielded over 500,000 Late Stone Age artifacts and radiocarbon dates ranging from ~15,000 to 9250 BC. A poorly preserved, tightly contracted human skeleton was found in undisturbed layers. The skull is long and low, with moderate brow ridges, a sloping forehead, and relatively flat nasal features. Despite some post-mortem distortion and reconstruction, its overall shape appears reliable. The face is mostly missing (missing hard tissue fragments were added for the reconstruction, some aspects of which are hypothetical), but the mandible is robust, though lacking a pronounced chin. The postcranial skeleton is highly fragmented, making precise measurements difficult. However, the long bones suggest a moderately robust individual of medium build, with an estimated height not exceeding ~165 cm. It has been argued that the Iwo Eleru fossil represents either an archaic hybrid or a relict archaic Homo population. In 2014, Christopher Stojanowski of Arizona State University outlined three main explanations for its unusual cranial shape: It was a hybrid with archaic African populations; it belonged to a relict archaic group later replaced by modern humans at the start of the Holocene; or it came from a population that diverged from other North African groups during a period of extreme Saharan aridity.

When this is over, the western part of NATO will never be the same. Spain, England, France and Italy have sold us out, as they too often have a history of doing. Eastern European nations are the heart of NATO. They spend money on defense, know how to fight and love the US. France particularly deserves fault and blame. From supporting China and Russia at the UN to denying Americans overflight rights, they’re doing what they’ve always done - showing weakness, while cutting deals with terrorists. (The reason the US has a Marine Corps and Navy is unlike France, we refused to pay a ransom to the Barbary Pirates. France is always happy to cut a deal.) Wars have unintended consequences as nations show their true colors. NATO will never be the same, and Western European weakness and acquiescence is the cause.

They built a Church that spread Christianity to China & India. What did we do to them? Iraq War -> Gone. 1.5m -> 150,000 in Iraq. Let alone Turkey, let alone Syria, let alone Iran. The Maronites are the oldest Christians in the Levant. The cedar that built the Temple is found in their homeland. They were the backbone of the French-Lebanese project, they were the pillar of its prosperity & stability. What happened to them? In 1932, they were a majority; now they are becoming a besieged minority, stuck between the IDF & Hezbollah. The Christian communities of Syria are a mosaic of the oldest Christians in the world. The Christians of Antioch. Aramaic speakers, Greek speakers, Arabic speakers. From Orthodox to Catholic to Syriac. Literally the land of the Apostles. What happened to them? Civil war (a proxy war). 2m in 2011 -> 500,000 today. Why are we allowing this to happen? Why does our conscience not ache? Why are we voting in "Christian" politicians who ignore the greatest tragedy in all of Christendom?

I'm honestly very fkn upset! Israel's Defense Minister just blatantly said they will occupy 10% of Lebanon even AFTER the war, and over 600k people that have their homes there cannot return! And also today, Netanyahu is saying that after the Iran war, the Strait of Hormuz needs to be bypassed using pipelines from Saudi to the Mediterranean I'm trying to be objective on everything, but after the destruction of Gaza, recent unwarranted bombing of Syria a few days ago, and now this, I am struggling to remain objective! Israel needs to reconsider its foreign policy or the cycle of violence won't stop! You cannot occupy Lebanon and expect the Government to disarm the militia that was founded BECAUSE of Israeli occupation decades ago! You cannot bomb Syria non stop and expect the people and the Government to sit idly and normalize relations You cannot wipe out Gaza and keep occupying it, then pass a law where the death penalty applies to Palestinians and not Israelis, and expect Palestinians to not be radicalized and fight back You cannot expect to bomb Iran, then propose a pipeline that benefits you, and expect the Arab world to become allies I want Hezbollah gone. I want the Iranian regime gone. I want Palestinian radicalization gone. But this is NOT the way to do it! This is NOT the way to achieve peace in the region!

My worst nightmare for Lebanon is coming true, and I am beginning to seriously question my assumption that Israel does not want to annex Lebanese territory The Defense Minister's statement today that Israel will occupy a part of Southern Lebanon after the war is inexcusable How can they expect to get rid of Hezbollah, which was founded because of Israel's occupation of Lebanon, if their goal is to occupy Lebanon again?!
