Tonight’s AFR/RedBridge Accent poll: Labor 54% 2PP vs One Nation Nationally, 60% 2PP in Capital cities vs One Nation. One Nation at 53% 2PP in regional and rural Australia. Yes, in a country that is highly urbanised, that matters. A lot. Labor dominates the capital cities. 60/40 on 2PP. Hanson owns everything else. Albanese is the most hated political figure amongst One Nation voters. Hanson is the most hated political figure amongst Labor and other left voters. One Nation voters rate Albanese at -83. Labor voters rate Hanson at -55. So One Nation’s ability to eat into the progressive block is extremely limited. This is clearly now a Right on Right contest, where One Nation attempts to replace the Coalition as he main Right wing party. It appears One Nation is succeeding. And the Coalition? Third. At 19%. Behind both. Across every single demographic. One Nation has basically replaced it as the major party for conservative Baby Boomers, the regions and practically every other key group that held up the Coalition in the past. Angus Taylor told Fairfax he’s open to a deal with One Nation. When you’re at 19 and One Nation at 28, you’re not making an offer. You’re submitting a résumé. @Mistadamage @Tedthekelpie @TheAustralian The focus is on CGT for investment housing. There’s been a lot of modeling showing this change would lower demand and hence prices. There’s no suggestion this change would be made retrospective. Should we be suspicious? Sure, but also not lose sight of the woods for the trees.

Will the Industry Super funds (the golden stream funding Labor) be limited to claiming tax deductions on only 2 properties as well?
When will someone finally expose this for what it really is:
A bare faced plan for big super - that funds Labor's big state - to take over the rental housing market by squeezing mum & dad investors out of it.
For the record I don't and never have used negative gearing. That whole self-interest argument is a smoke screen for Labor's genuine agenda here:

The discussion is about the removal of tax advantages that were introduced specifically for investors in the housing market thats contributed directly to the housing affordability crisis. Corps and super funds are a seperate, but important issue.

The one sentence in the One Nation policy on immigration levels makes zero arithmetical sense. But I suspect that may not matter to One Nation candidates like this one. Hume was of course also confused on immigration levels.

Hume has just pushed a lot of voters straight over to One Nation. The Liberal Party hasn’t changed direction — they’ve just reshuffled faces. Replacing Susan Lee with Senator Jane Hume isn’t reform. It’s optics. And by her own admission, they’re not interested in stopping immigration. Immigration is the biggest pressure point in Australia right now — housing, infrastructure, wages, social cohesion. You cannot keep increasing intake while Australians can’t find homes or afford rent. There needs to be a pause. There needs to be a cap. One out, one in. That simple. @PaulineHansonOz @AngusTaylorMP

@Tedthekelpie @hasselljpb The current Australia Day represents the day the aboriginal people lost their land and human rights which is a big thing. Making it the day Australia became a nation, Federation Day, would be a lot more inclusive. So yes I believe it would make a difference.
