@matt_barrie @samstrades @loadshift The current fuel excise is 51.6 cents per litre of petrol and diesel. Given the current cost of fuel crisis caused by war the govt needs to introduce an urgent suspension of the excise until normal market forces return. Enough is enough @JEChalmers @9NewsAUS

We at @loadshift are now seeing 39.5% fuel levies being imposed by heavy haulage carriers.

Brains trust: Steerable axles on multi-axle chaser bins. Yes or no. Why? There are no sand hills here, but there is plenty of road between paddocks.

After advice on which brands of coulters to use on a 10inch DBS, abrasive soils with stone. Reasonable investment on genuine Ausplow assemblies but interested to hear from anyone running other brands, K Lines etc Thanks

@ipaddockapps I'll have to read the article. Does it say what soil type the tests were done with and what rainfall? And where was most of it lost? Leaching or volatilisation?

This was brilliant work from Louise Barton. Testing the "N banking" concept, using a traceable N isotope; so clever! The result? You lose most of it if you don't use it in the year of application. Bugger! So now I feel like an even bigger mug for overdoing it last year 🤦‍♂️

@Oscarthefarmer Rampant unmitigated migration being cut shouldn't affect this because skilled/targeted one is still desired by all with a brain.

Yeah. The number of services which rural and remote Australia needs but which is provided by recent migrants to this country... Direct overlay with the areas supporting ONP in polls too?! Bizarre #auspol

The two Bondi shooters weren’t members of a hate group and they didn’t participate in hate speech in public or online. They were however on a terrorist watch list and out intelligence agencies failed to watch them. Rather than push 200 pages of new laws which remove freedoms from all Australians, one simple law would prevent an attack like this from occurring again, DON’T LET PEOPLE ON A TERRORIST WATCH LIST TO HAVE A GUN LICENCE AND OWN GUNS IF ASIO and the AFP can’t stop a person on a terrorist watch list from owning guns then they won’t be able to stop a person on a hate group list from owning one either. The responsibility should be on them not on us! Simple

3rd try at lentils better than the previous attempts. However with lentil prices where they are I won’t try again next year. Thunder south of blue line are a huge improvement on bolt. Peas will continue to be our legume, better agronomics and harvestability

@SEPWA_ag 2024 results comparing Outlaw yield and oil with the elite TT and RR varieties. *For the record I have no reason to promote any variety, but I do believe in sharing things I see that might also help others sepwa.org.au/wp-content/upl…

I'm intrigued at the low uptake &/or even interest in Outlaw (OP) which yields as well as the best RR hybrids. Back of envelope compared to RR on a 2t crop: - seed saving $100/Ha - CAN vs CAG $220/Ha $300/Ha extra profit=$600k on 2000Ha. Where else can we make that kind of gain?
iMc Fels 📲🌾@ipaddockapps

Outlaw vs Trophy. 3rd year running Outlaw has been the best yielder here, and has amazing oil. Ripens a week sooner so you can top it before any stray weeds go to seed. Because making lots more money makes me feel good, I'm a massive fan of this stunning @agtbreeding variety

The perverse penalty for crop residue (which improve soil C) is a show-stopper failure in emissions accounting for agriculture. Primary school science tells us that the C in plants came from the air, yet when a portion returns to the air it is counted as emissions. Total rubbish

@RHarris302 @CasFarmerCD @Rock26Crosby We had 70mm on top of a 100t open top silo full of canola. Made the error of not opening the bottom door. Couldn't even get the chaser bin in the paddock for a few days so by the time we tried to empty it there was a blocked auger that took a bit of work to free up.

When did Australians become a bunch of welfare hungry socialists? Here’s some figures for those hating on high income earners. 10.3m Aussies paid tax out of 27m people Of the $267bn income tax collected: Top 1% paid 20% Top 10% paid 52% Bottom 50% paid 11% 16.7m paid no tax

The WA Firearms Portal is supposed to make things easier. Instead, it's locking people out across the state. • Error messages • Weeks of waiting • Manual processing behind a fake digital front I looked into the source code — it’s not even automated. Just another layer of red tape dressed up as “progress.” People are trying to follow the law, and the system is making it impossible. Is it going to work this year? Or is this just another case of the government failing the bush? #WAFirearms #FirearmsPortal #DigitalFail #RuralWA #WAPolitics #FirearmLicensing #AccountabilityMatters #SystemBroken #FixItNow

Craig Kelly:🇦🇺Foundation for Economic Education
WE’RE STUFFED The Economist Magazine has just published this chart showing that Australia has the most bloated government bureaucracy in the world - and also the fastest growing (except for Argentina pre-Melei). The government bureaucracy in Australia has grown so large and so politically powerful, that it continues to enrich itself and increase its power with no end in sight. Any discussion of an Australian D.O.G.E is met with such political hostility (lead by the state media; the ABC) , that politicians are now too frightened to even discuss that the bureaucracy needs to be wound back even by the slightest amount. And the Labor Party have gerrymandered the Australian Senate by employing tens of thousands of additional left-voting Canberra based bureaucrats, resulting in the ACT permanently electing two Senators from the left, making it near impossible for the non-left side of Australian politics to ever have the balance of power in the Senate. And going forward, as the number of Australians creating wealth in the private sector continued to decline - it’s just a matter of time until the bureaucrats run out of other people’s money to reward themselves with. It’s like when a parasite attaches itself to a host, and bleeds the host dry, until there is nothing left to feed on, and then they both die. economist.com/graphic-detail…

Bourgault owners… really battling to get a canola rate under 2kg/ha. Got the small seed bin with double flighted metering auger, auger sleeve seems in perfect shape. More thinking it’s hydraulic related. Hydraulic valve says it’s running just below 20% flow. Any common issues?
