I'm baffled by the idea - oft-repeated by Trump supporters - that this war will ensure that Iran will "never" get a nuclear weapon. How can a bombing campaign alone accomplish that? Iran still has its enriched uranium. The regime will still be in power. It can build/buy centrifuges.
Yes, the war will set Iran's nuclear program back years - although we were told that Midnight Hammer had already done that. But in the absence of regime change - which would require boots on the ground and U.S. occupation - how can we say this war will guarantee Iran will not get a nuke?
