I am pleased to announce my nomination of Shirley Emehelu to be New Jersey’s next Comptroller. Shirley brings a wealth of experience to the role, from her time at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey and the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General. Shirley will be a key partner in delivering on my goal of bringing transparency and accountability to Trenton. It would be flat wrong to have the incredible election turnout of New Jersey voters standing against Trump’s lawlessness and then immediately take steps in our state to reduce accountability and transparency. I strongly oppose any efforts to weaken the Comptroller and Attorney General positions along with other watchdog institutions that are standing against corruption and conflicts of interest that raises our costs and hurt our families and communities.
