@gruber The Unicode CLDR (used for localization) has a `root` locale which defaults to `en`. My guess is your locale value from you’re restored phone was an empty or null value which iOS associated with root/en. You’ll want to set to en-US.

Do I want “English” or “English (US)” here? What’s the difference?
