IMPORTANT: have said this before but worth reiterating: EXIT polls must EXIT unless they give sample size, raw data breakdown, complete methodology. And yes, disclose if they are also polling for a political party. A SERIOUS polling exercise which can be useful to understand voter behaviour mustn’t be reduced to a prime time LOTTERY with ZERO accountability. 🙏

@jammypants4 Not every film has to be a Pan India spectacle. By forcibly trying to make one, filmmakers and stars are getting stuck. Stars especially are wasting their peak years stuck in a single project for years.

Anurag Kashyap had spoken once about how Sairat and its success had ruined Marathi Cinema, for everyone tried to make the next 100 crore project post its hit tag vs something they creatively were passionate about. It begs the question, does a financial blockbuster beyond the confines of the state in the long term adversely impact the health of the industry? Telugu Cinema after Baahubali. Kannada Cinema after KGF. Hindi Cinema after Dhurandhar now. Yash's Toxic is severely delayed. 4 years having been spent on 1 project. Prabhas has consistent pressure to deliver pan indian spectacles. He wanted to do a small film for a change (RajaSaab) & that also ballooned to become a high budget film. Ranveer Singh has this unsaid pressure to ensure the next project is something EVERYONE is hyped for! Isn't it necessary for stars to still be creatively free to take risks. I only see Mammootty being free, co producing his own movies and taking wild swings. Maybe that is the way? One for the audience. One for my creativity. It's easier said than done....

@TheCineprism All the time, they are claiming it's shot in English. So where was the promotion in the west? They first announced the release date on March 19th and even then we didn't see a single international promotion activity. The excuses are self explanatory.

Yash said it himself, you either stay safe or take risks to achieve something big. He chooses to take risks. With Toxic, he’s showing that mindset by going global and even delaying the release to make sure it reaches audiences the right way.
