If I was single I would unironically go to the forest and hope to meet a man there instead of a bear because nature guys are usually a good sort

One of the easiest ways for a man to see if a woman is worth pursuing: ask her to dress modestly in public (since most don’t these days). If she says no, she rejects the authority of Christ, and would thus reject your authority as a husband. Move on.

@conor64 Do you really think imprisoning serial rapists stops them from raping people or do you just not care what happens to people in prisons?

No one becomes wise through victory, only through loss. Failure teaches humility, heartbreak teaches restraint, solitude teaches discipline. The modern man runs from pain and wonders why he stays fragile. You harden only by breaking first.

@rothanwalker @TheGringoSalado Since we’re going hypothetical… Do you think that man brazen enough to police a non-wife’s clothing would choose an immodest girl in the first place? No. Not unless he thought he could have some fun with her before bringing her into line. Not an uncommon tradboy scenario btw

Fraternal correction is the duty of every Christian. The post assumed immodesty was taking place. Immodesty is a sin, because it is an immoral use of our bodies. Therefore, anyone calling it out is speaking the truth of Christ, which every Christian must submit to. Only the authority of Christ and a husband was mentioned. Nothing about the boyfriend, who I suggested “ask” for modest behavior. “Ask” is a pretty humble word. Not command. Not even demand. “Ask.” So if immodesty occurs, and modesty is REQUESTED (but refused), that sort of thing should be a red flag for anyone—male or female—because the refusal is ultimately a refusal to obey Christ. Choose any sin you want, and it’s the exact same. If you want to have a deeper discussion about the limits of what is considered immodest, that’s a fair conversation to have. But the post assumed immodesty was taking place. That is for people to figure out in their own contexts. As a helpful guid post, the Church has issued guidance on this in the past, and many modern women would flunk. If you are a man and you don’t have this conversation, you are a disservice to yourself, and a disservice to the woman you are pursuing. The real issue is that so many women today are unwilling to hear anything a man says, and do not believe themselves bound by such things, particularly when it comes to how they use the thing that provides them so much affirmation in our social media age: their bodies, a sin in which they have often been encouraged by hordes of lascivious men. And yet the Scriptures, and our Fathers, Saints, and Doctors for 2,000 years have extremely direct and powerful teachings about such things. Most women today can’t bear them on issues like modesty, for which we should pray for them. A few months ago, I suggested that men shouldn’t be seriously dating (for the purpose of marriage) unless they had gotten pornography/masturbation out of their life for a decent amount of time, and that they had no right to complain about the state of women if that was what they were doing. Lots of guys came out of the woodwork and complained to the high heavens about this utterly basic suggestion—as if they were entitled to certain sins—exposing profound weakness and cowardice among hordes of men. The incessant and endless complaining among SOME women about calls for modesty—nay, even mere REQUESTS for it by the men who are exploring the prospect of being their husbands (requests for which they should THANK them)—reveals a similar failure of moral vision and courage has also taken place among women. Both sexes have imbibed modern Satanic lies about the use of our bodies. We must pray and penance more than ever.

One of the easiest ways for a man to see if a woman is worth pursuing: ask her to dress modestly in public (since most don’t these days). If she says no, she rejects the authority of Christ, and would thus reject your authority as a husband. Move on.
