Donald Trump votes by mail. But this week, he signed an Executive Order so you can’t. Why? Because he is scared of your power, and he is scared of losing the midterms.

Under 287(g) MOAs, ICE fully covers the cost of the training program itself (instructors, materials, curriculum at FLETC). Local agencies have historically covered officers' salaries, benefits, and overtime during training and 287(g) duties. However, since October 1, 2025, ICE now reimburses participating agencies for the full annual salary and benefits of each trained 287(g) officer—plus up to 25% overtime—and offers quarterly performance awards ($500–$1,000 per officer based on results). ICE also provides equipment and IT support. This federal funding makes it more feasible for smaller departments with limited staffing, though participation remains voluntary. Details are in the MOA and DHS announcements.

@IdahoansFirst What is a “mandatory 287(g) partnership”, Justin? I assume you are referring to something like Florida’s state-level mandate: Florida statute makes it mandatory for county sheriffs/chief correctional officers running detention facilities to enter into a 287(g) agreement.

Every legislator ignoring our elected county sheriffs are not pro-law enforcement. They are undermining the very constitutional structure that keeps Idaho safe. The U.S. Constitution is crystal clear. Immigration is a federal power under Article I, Section 8. The 10th Amendment reserves to the states and the people all powers not delegated to the federal government. The Supreme Court has repeatedly affirmed the anti-commandeering doctrine. The feds cannot force state or local officers to enforce federal immigration law. See Printz v. United States (1997). Yet these legislators are attempting to commandeer our locally elected sheriffs and police chiefs by forcing them into mandatory 287(g) partnerships. That overrides the Idaho Constitution's explicit design. Idaho Constitution, Article XVIII, establishes elected county sheriffs as independent constitutional officers with primary responsibility for law enforcement in their counties. They answer to the people who elected them, not to Boise politicians playing federal immigration cop on the taxpayer dime. Our sheriffs already cooperate with ICE and Border Patrol daily. They testified clearly. These bills create unfunded mandates. They pull deputies off the street. They add massive paperwork and liability. They erode community trust. They divert resources from fighting actual crime in Idaho. The Idaho Sheriffs’ Association, Idaho FOP, and Idaho Chiefs of Police Association, representing the men and women who risk their lives every day, said unequivocal no. I will always side with the brave men and women on the front lines over politicians who demonize them for telling the truth. Real constitutional conservatives respect federalism, local control, and limited government. We enforce the law effectively, not with symbolic overreach that wastes money and weakens public safety. Idaho families deserve leaders who listen to the experts who actually wear the badge. If that makes the rabid keyboard warriors mad, so be it. Real Idahoans are done with performative politics.

@DataRepublican @mattvanswol @RealJamesWoods @MrPayens @Tyler2ONeil DataRepublican is right.🎯 There appear to be incentives in place - political & personal - to reward ongoing congressional GOP failure. Understanding these incentives helps explain individual actions & collective outcomes. Members of the Senate GOP are incentivized to fail.

It does have a weakness though. And that weakness is directly tied into why they panic about "misinformation," why they demanded to close down Joe Rogan, why they're perpetually scheming to shut down 𝕏, why they fetishize censorship. The center of gravity for technocratic decision-making is the public's ignorance. This was identified as early as the Trilateral Commission's "Crisis of Democracy" report in 1975. The reason we are finding out all this is not because they've suddenly grabbing more control, but because their legitimacy is wearing out.

Let’s get my position on the Republican Party crystal clear. I’ve been a registered Republican since Bill Clinton turned the Oval Office into his own personal brothel. Now that Senate Majority John Thune refuses to protect election integrity, I am disgusted with my party. I will NEVER vote for a Democrat in my life, but the RINO elements destroying the Republican party are a disgrace. I am a devout follower of President Trump, and as a registered Independent will continue to vote with Republicans when they stand behind this great President and act like Republicans again. Democrats, the ragtag band of con artists and grifters that they are, manage to work together in lockstep, but getting Republicans to accomplish anything is like herding cats. It’s absolutely infuriating.

@igniteXi @elonmusk Why do you think Japan’s culture has not collapsed? In other words, what has helped keep it intact? That is a genuine question. One example comes to mind: Japan has never welcomed or embraced mass immigration.

@elonmusk The excellent content from Japan on X restores faith because it comes from a culture that has not yet collapsed into the ideological madness and self loathing now routine across the West.

@mattvanswol @StandUpForTrmp To clarify, the fact that there is currently an incentive *at the individual level* to be financially poor enough to qualify for gov’t benefits doesn’t mean it’s “better” than an alternative path without gov’t benefits. Accessing “free” benefits isn’t free. cc: @america

In America right now, you are financially better off being poor than being lower middle class. It is better to be financially poor and qualify for government benefits than it is to work hard and be lower middle class, and qualify for none. The system we built to help people escape poverty is actively punishing the people trying to escape poverty.

Because, historically, the Republican Party's business model is to: 🔹️Fail 🔹️"Aw shucks, we tried." 🔹️Hand power back to Democrats. 🔹️"We'll get them next time! Please send donations." 🔹️Democrats piss everyone off, ruin 🇺🇸. 🔹️RINOs voted back in. 🔹️Repeat.

@mattvanswol @TheFungi669 That sort of take doesn’t show that someone is a leftist. It shows they are either: - uninformed - informed and intentionally lying As you know, people all across the political spectrum intentionally lie - either sometimes or a lot. Incentives usually explain these actions.

@TheFungi669 This is such a stupid take... Birthright citizenship is only when BOTH parents are NON-CITIZENS. It is always hilarious when people pretend they don't know the difference between illegal immigrants and legal immigrants. Really shows that you are Leftists when you do this.

Dear IDAHO The sheriff of the 2nd largest county arrests illegals. But doesn’t keep records. Because why would we? He says “he doesn’t know what the purpose of that record would be for”. The sheriffs don’t want you to know how many illegals they’re arresting.

Dear IDAHO 30% of the people the Idaho sheriff of the 2nd largest county stops, he doesn’t check immigration status. Oh and he’s very blunt… that’s ICE’s problem. You know- the agency he won’t partner with. 👀
