If I were the ref, I would’ve given a final warning for the excessive spitting out of the mouth piece, counted a second KD when the ropes held Rico up, but let him finish the round, put the onus on his corner to do the right thing. Either way, fight was over in the 12th.

The stoppage looks very bad in the shorter clip, but rewind it a minute and notice how much time Rico buys with the mouthpiece tactic after getting brutally dropped. He was going to get finished, either in the 11th or the 12th.

It should have been stopped literally right there when he lost the mouthpiece to gain some time and couldnt even walk properly.

Perfectly reasonable scores. Broadcast so caught up in the narrative they forgot to actually watch the fight round by round. This was a “STORY OF THE FIGHT!” broadcast.

@usykaa Honestly, I don’t think this his how you should have won. I think it’s one of the biggest mistakes in boxing ever by the referee. Stepping in after the bell... One of the most important matches ever in boxing, and it’s ruined by this referee that does not even admit his mistake.
