Chinese AI co’s are destabilising US AI valuations by rapidly developing competing models, making them 85% as good, but 20x cheaper and putting them out there - absolutely open source for trust issues - within weeks of new US launches. What an interesting strategy to create destabilisation using the free market and the “network state” h/t @balajis. As an investor, the value will collapse to the hardware level - where the US has the clear advantage - for now - but what if the hardware requirements get less and less too?

@ktreywalsh Dictatorships have a bad rep, but it depends on the dictator. Who wouldn’t want to live under Marcus Aurelius? And let’s not forget, western civilization as we know it was built by monarchies

@ktreywalsh On a long enough time frame, democracy always devolves into something like a communism due to the incentive structure. The founding fathers knew this, which is why they made the US a republic

Why do so many Bitcoiners love “strong men” dictators more than they love democracy? Make it make sense

Bitcoin consumes as much electricity as Argentina but isn't counted in GDP because it doesn't create traditional goods or services. The updated System of National Accounts classifies crypto assets as national wealth for better economic measurement.  imf.org/en/Blogs/Artic…

Elon can build rockets, self driving cars, ai, robots, and give internet to everyone on the planet And he will still underperform @Saylor, who just buys bitcoin This will be the market’s proof that NOTHING is more important to the human race than the proliferation of #bitcoin

@HHorsley “We don’t do gold” is hilarious considering it’s outperformed the S&P500 over the past 25 years That family office is likely underperforming a shiny rock

It used to be that "regulatory uncertainty" was Bitcoin's biggest obstacle for investors. This is no longer the case in 2025, which is a huge unlock. It's impact still hasn't fully manifested. So, what are the biggest obstacles now? I see two coming up in conversations: (1) People are busy: Most investors and allocators are very busy. They're constantly presented with opportunities, including things that could 10x. Why do they *need* to turn their attention to Bitcoin, which for many is still a complicated topic. (2) Digital Gold: I had a conversation with a family office investor this week. He said, "as I understand it, it's digital gold, but we don't do gold." Gold is indeed one of the least popular investments in America. These two aren't the most pressing items of this moment, but they will reveal themselves as the next obstacle over the coming quarters.

I don’t know how MSTY blows up. I do know that yield can’t just come from nothing. Good luck yield maxis, I’ve been in your seat, it’s fun for a season, until you become the yield.

Being a contrarian is a great way to make money in markets. Being known for sometimes having contrarian takes is probably good for your intellectual reputation. However, being known as the guy who invariably takes the contrarian position is a devastating self-inflicted L.
