@ChadMoran I agree - even if it were the same version - the test is flawed unless done 100X and even then.... Anything could happen to make the situation different - lighting, a shadow, wheel slippage...etc . I dont know how someone can think this proves anything with certainty

@ChadMoran Very likely that The person did not trust FSD, disengaged to take over and did not react fast enough. FSD would have made the turn.

I normally don't bother armchair quarterbacking these situations. But watching the Tesla Stans come into the comments is funny. Elon said Autopilot (FSD?) was disengaged 4s before the impact which if you watch the video looks like it was going way too fast at that point. Am I missing something?
Fox News@FoxNews

'TERRIFYING': Dashcam video shows the moment a Tesla Cybertruck, allegedly operating in self-driving mode, nearly sent a Houston mom and her infant off a bridge before violently crashing into an overpass barrier. The woman claims she suffered multiple injuries from the incident and is now suing the automaker for $1 million.

@JCChristopher @herbertong I want nothing more than FSD to succeed and hav my life saving explode. I swaped 2 jags and a Range Rover after 25 years of brand loyalty to 3 new teslas. It’s 99% not 100%. I have been disappointed first hand several times with FSD.

I went to the exact same location of the Cybertruck accident shown in the Fox News video. This is the US-69/59 Eastex Freeway northbound HOV lane at the Y-split near the Eastex Park & Ride exit (approaching from downtown Houston toward Humble). In the Fox News video, the vehicle failed to follow the right curve, going straight into the barrier. Well, I tested it twice today with Tesla FSD engaged the entire time with zero human intervention. And unless you think I am a hologram speaking to you from another dimension now, it worked out really well. Here is the video of me taking the exact same curve twice, with Tesla FSD v14.2.2.5.

@sampullara @wholemars @future_yas See where the 4 seconds minus impact starts in The video. Not much time to react. I have driven over 25000 miles on 4 versions of FSD. All I’m saying is that it’s possible for FSD to make mistakes. It’s happened to me where I did react soon enough.

I’m A Tesla lover and I can see how this would happen and how a driver would disengage at the last minute after releasing the car is not gonna make the turn. It’s very rare but it has happened to me on earlier versions of FSD. Tesla needs to deal with this reality without making it top headlines.

@future_yas Yes, that’s how ADAS works. The driver pays attention and makes sure the car doesn’t make any mistakes. In the eyes of Tesla haters like you, Tesla is at fault even when someone crashes driving manually.

@niccruzpatane 4 seconds to me looks like FSD was going too fast and freaked out the owner. i dont know any other reason why someone would disengage right then. I have been using FSD for 90%+ of driving and earlier versions were scary AF.

Elon Musk confirmed via Telemetry Data that the woman driving the Cybertruck in this video disengaged the system four seconds before the crash. She was manually driving throughout this entire video. Don't believe everything you see/hear from Legacy Media about Tesla.

@squawksquare Maybe a mass deployment of unsupervised cyber cabs and not the 8 model Ys that have been driving for the last month.

Many keep asking "Will the announcing of Tarafab help boost shares of $TSLA this?" The short answer, no. Nothing will help except the easing of oil and de-escalation in Iran. Options control Tesla and momentum and uncertainty control options.

Not so crazy prediction: 25 years from now, humans will be monstrously less safe than autonomous cars. What will happen? Driving tests will become more rigorous.

Any tips for a first Tesla road trip? FSD will be handling most of the driving, so I’m open to any advice!
