There have been over 5 million total 18-game spans by players in MLB's modern era. In none of them did a player have as many hits, doubles, triples, homers & steals as the @Cubs' Pete Crow-Armstrong over his last 18 games: 34 hits 5 doubles 2 triples 9 home runs 6 stolen bases

@brendan_cubs Please don’t quote Ferris Bueller. Matthew Broderick should have served prison time in Ireland.

Back when Chicago was great. The pride of Centralia Gary Gaetti hits a 2 run bomb in the 1998 one game playoff for the wildcard. On another note, let's make Illinois great again and flip it red.

@KHQDaveCotton @uniformcritic Watch the start of this clip again. He’s 10 seconds behind describing the tag on the bunt. He gives it the “…aaaaaaaannnndddd” treatment. Love the guy but he was all vibes.

@uniformcritic The vast majority of sports fans love to parody older Harry Caray, but in the 1960s & 70s he was as good and sharp as there was in the game.

1980 White Sox: In this clip you get Harry Caray, Piersall, a Campy bunt, a White Sox uniform critique & a fine catch by Baines.

Name one MLB opinion that would get you roasted by most baseball fans—but you genuinely believe it.

@rodgatton86 @Dancon7 Why do they need new revenue? They are already highly profitable in a salary capped league with massive TV money.

Personal Opinion: The Bears don’t need a new stadium deal. They already have the best deal in football. At Soldier Field, the Bears pay just $6.48 million a year in rent, with increases tied to only 50% of CPI every five years. Which means their effective rent drops over time. And no property taxes. At $6.5M/year, it would take roughly 116 years of Soldier Field rent to equal the cost of a $2 billion new stadium commitment. And that doesn't even include property taxes or interest on the loan. The Bears have had no problem increasing ticket prices. According to Statista, the Bears ranked fourth in the NFL in average ticket price in 2023, at $458.17 per ticket. Likely bringing in over $25M+/game. Profitability isn't an issue at Soldier Field. For taxpayers, fans, and the Bears, Soldier Field is the obvious answer: No new taxes. No new property tax shifts. No new infrastructure expenses. No new history to build. No alienation of fans. And the Bears can still develop Arlington Heights or Hammond without putting a stadium there, if that's what they choose to do. Even if they want to develop west of Soldier Field, they are free to join the One Central development or start their own. No one is stopping them from becoming real estate developers if they are dissatisfied with only being a football team. But the bottom line: Soldier Field is the lower-cost, lower-risk option for Bears fans, taxpayers, and the region. The General Assembly doesn't need to do anything. Soldier Field is already the best deal in the NFL.

@96wvhokie @uscfan981 Puckett didn’t even reach the majors until 1984. Hard to win the “best of the decade” argument when you weren’t there for 40% of the decade.

@uscfan981 Murphy out (TBS Braves bias) and Puckett in. Carlton out (best seasons were in the 70’s), Ryan in. Smith out and Quisenberry in…. Other than that, nailed it!

The legendary BACK TO THE FUTURE (1985) blooper where Michael J. Fox suddenly slips into character as a Mexican cholo and ad-libs, “No homeboy for her tonight, man,” remains one of the funniest outtakes from the film. The cast and crew completely lose it.

@TheBrancaShow @MongolianBeast1 The franchise was not dissolved when it was taken from the old owners and handed to the new ones. It was the same franchise and was beholden to any contracts the previous owners had entered into. “I don’t know about that” does not absolve them from guilt.
