Here is the truth about the treatment of the Serbian community in Kosovo: Serbs in Kosovo are not victims of the Albanian government or Kosovo institutions ... as the Serbian List and related NGOs tied to Belgrade constantly try to portray. In fact, it is they who violate the rights and interests of their own community. Through pressure and intimidation, the Serbian List has forced Serbs to vote for them and stirred unrest in the north, instead of working to improve real living conditions for their community. The Kosovo government has built homes for Serbian families and offered them job opportunities, yet the Serbian List, in collaboration with Belgrade, pushed them to give up these opportunities and remain isolated from society. The Serbian community is protected by Kosovo institutions, the Kosovo Police, KFOR, and EULEX. There is no lack of protection ..the real problem is a lack of genuine representation. Moreover, many Serbian NGOs, claiming to work for the community, consistently boycott invitations to cooperate with Kosovo institutions on projects for integration and social support. Instead of participating and helping improve life for Serbs in Kosovo, they serve Belgrade’s interests, becoming tools for propaganda and victimization in front of the world.
