"if God is real, she..." ☠️☠️

.@emmasarchivee
if god is real, she'd like atheists more than religious people
English

@elcumster But you're not a Christian now, act you're only here to mock and ridicule. Your opinion is of little value to me.
English

@Elefjohnson I grew up with a catholic parent and an Anglican parent in a mennonite community and elementary school while attended a united youth group my entire childhood
English

How about asking this - are Christians mormon? Do they accept us as we are????? #LDS
English

@SweetSavvySavio If your priest aware that you're in an LGBT relationship? Unconfessed sin is a problem for your communion as far as I understand Catholic and communion.
English

I'm not expecting gay marriage to suddenly start being allowed, but at the very least, I would hope we recognize that gay people have no choice in their attractions, can't change them, still may wish for companionship, and should be treated with dignity as God's creation.

OPINION: The Catholic Church is not a static entity fully and perfectly formed, but our hope is that it doesn't take another 500 years to acknowledge the realities of the LGBTQ+ community. bit.ly/4cTF1Lb

@HollandGreig The video is coping hard with their past and still falling short.

Yes, yes we do. Because this is a human.

Conservatives will see this and call it a human

@HansFiene You have a kid in track. Surely thou hast sinned in dinner mighty way.
English

I finished my sermon and the track meet is still going. I don’t deserve this. I’m not this bad of a person.
Hans Fiene 🦬@HansFiene
Writing a sermon on my phone at a track meet because I am living a life of suffering.

@TruthHolder2023 Are you taking the words of your prophets of the table if they aren't in one of these books? Dues that mean that they are either not authoritative or fallible?
English

If you claim that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches X, Y or Z, be prepared to quote scriptures from our standard works. And, if you refuse to quote from the Book of Mormon-Another Testament of Jesus Christ, Pearl of Great Price or Doctrine and Covenants, be prepared to be told you don't know what you're talking about.
That's the way it works. Or, should I say, "Show your work."
Books like Journal of Discourses, Mormon Doctrine, etc., are not doctrine (in spite of the name of Bruce R. McConkie's book title). Our scriptures are:
The Holy Bible
The Book of Mormon-Another Testament of Jesus Christ
Doctrine and Covenants
Pearl of Great Price
If you can't find it in one of those, it's not one of our teachings. It might be someone's opinion, but it is not scripture in the Church of Jesus Christ. And, it's best to find two supporting references since Christ taught that things must be established by two or three witnesses.
Meme based on someone claiming the Book of Mormon-Another Testament of Jesus Christ- says Jesus and Satan are brothers. Of course, when asked to provide a reference, the couldn't. Instead, the quote some obscure anti-Church of Jesus Christ person claiming it says this.

@JS_StrngstSldr @JasontheLayman Who said you were automatically damned? In Calvinist thought, you might be an elect who had yet to hear the Word of God.
English

@JasontheLayman Wait, if the Calvinist God totally sovereign, why would it matter that you even try? If you're already the elect and we're already damned, what would the use be of even attempting to turn people who are destined to be damned?
English

Bear with me on this one, it is a bit lengthy.
In 1830, Joseph Smith dictated many of his fictional stories to a scribe, sprinkled in biblical plagiarism, and a rudimentary use of Elizabethan, to create his biggest con, a counterfeit version of the Bible.
I think it's appropriate to call it fool's gold, considering the golden plates were imaginary.
How do we know for certain it was all a sham? There are hundreds of modern words mixed in with the supposedly ancient text that would be considered anachronistic. Let's look at the first handful of chapters in Alma for a small sample size. This is one hundred years before Christ and blind LDS members consider all these things prophetic, but it was just Joseph Smith using a Bible while writing his fanfiction.

Friends, please help the LDS crowd wake up from their slumber. They have been deceived in these Last Days and I believe it's high time these captives were set free.
Lord have mercy on the Mormons!

English

@Rultpwr @JasontheLayman You misunderstand the doctrine of election.
Some of the worlds boldest evangelists have been Calvinists. Why?
Two reasons:
1) Faith cubes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God
2) Knowing that God controls salvation removes the fear of "doing evangelism right"
English

@JasontheLayman why would your heart go out to the unelect? do you think you know better than God? Who are you to question who God has determined to be deceived?
English

@grok @prockwellbg @PartisanOracle @grok so oliver cowdry would be reasonably fearful for his families safety if he opposed the Danite vigilante zealots?
English

@PartisanOracle @grok how many people saw the Gold Plates? How many were shown by an angel? How many Latter-day Saints in the first 25 years of the LDS Church made claims to have seen God or angels?

@KramersFaith To be fair to you, I didn't often get abused by Mormons here. They openly disagree, and that's good.
But when it does happen, I know it's a circling of wagons that all groups are prone to. Real evangelism happens between people well known to each other.
English

@Mormonger Ok, that's kind of funny.

@redeemed_zoomer Agreed. They're simply awful and cost too much for the "service" they provide. I use Cricket now, and haven't been more satisfied.
English

@Xtopher_Uzo Your right, but what you think of the Catholic Church is much smaller then the true Catholic Church 😉
English

"If you just read the Bible, you wouldn’t become Catholic."
That’s the lies a lot of protestants tell their members so that they can keep collecting offering money and tithe, when the truth is actually the opposite.
Now, here's the truth they miss: The Bible is a Catholic book. Your pastor won't tell you this....
The Church existed FIRST. For nearly 400 years, there was no complete Bible. In 382 AD, the Catholic Church held councils that decided which books were inspired and canonized the Bible we have today.
Every Christian -Protestant, Catholic, or otherwise- is holding a book that the Catholic Church gave them.
It’s ironic that People say "just read the Bible and you won’t be Catholic." But that Bible you're reading only exists because of the Catholic Church.
Look at it this way:::
- The Trinity defines the Resurrection.
- The Resurrection defines the Church.
- The Church defines the Bible.
Not the other way around.
Without the Church, there is no Bible.
Without the Resurrection, there is no Church.
Without the Trinity, the Resurrection makes no sense.
The Church came first. The Bible came from the Church - not the Church from the Bible.
This isn’t about man creating God’s Word. It’s about God using His Church to preserve and deliver it.
