Idk if this is a hot take but I absolutely loathe the interiors of both starship hls and bloomoon This sleek "sci fi" aesthetic is so boring. I want BUTTONS, DIALS, A THOUSAND CHUNKY SCREENS, I want spacecraft to look like the advanced machines they are, not cheap toys!

The control centres at CERN and ITER look basically identical.

Hot Take: When you're spending a few billion anyway, make the control center look like it. This should be the set from Wargames at a minimum, not a hotel meeting room with a projector.

@BrodieOnLinux I would like to see something to support this. USB-C is rated as standard to 10,000 cycles while USB-A is only 1,500.
Not to mention USB-C is just a far superior connector electrically. It's not just an aesthetic choice.

USB A are cheap, and very robust. People who are obsessed with USB C never want to address the fact that it's a really fragile connector, nowhere near as bad Micro USB but in no world a replacement for USB A.

@DJSnM I got the chance to chat to an ESA astronaut last year. He said when he trained in Russia he was shocked at how far they had fallen. He said the country had plenty of high quality engineers, but they were all leaving to either the private sector or other countries.

The launches of #Luna28, #Luna29 and #Luna30 have been postponed, said Sergey Chernyshev, Vice President of the Russian Academy of Sciences. According to his presentation at the RAS meeting, the launch of the Luna-29 is expected in 2032, Luna-30 in 2034, and Luna-28 in 2036.

The attention for Artemis 2 will perk up decently the day before, and massively the day of / after launch. Then again with moon pics and splashdown. Niche interest (even as big as this is) doesn't capture attention days out.

These idiots have no idea that SpaceX has already spent far more on Starship than they got for either of their HLS contracts. NASA got a deal. $20-30B is how much a minimal NHRO lander would cost if developed by NASA using NASA's cost model. SpaceX got $3B for a crew landing.
