Our Mission: A World Without Childhood Blindness. Serving Children Since 1977

It was a true highlight of the week to reconnect with @mahbubani_k—former Dean of the @LKYSch at the National University of Singapore, former President of the United Nations Security Council, and a defining voice on the “Asian Century.” Our Chairwoman Jovanka Porsche, first caught up with him during the Gala Dinner and then continued the conversation in a more focused one-on-one meeting during the Boao Forum. These conversations allowed for a thoughtful discussion on the shifting geopolitical dynamics reshaping Europe. In a rapidly changing world, ensuring that Asian perspectives are meaningfully heard in Europe is more important than ever. We also explored how initiatives like “Tracks to the Future” can serve as a bridge for genuine Eurasian cooperation, and the value of sustained, open dialogue across regions. #BFA2026 #BoaoForum #Geopolitics #AsiaCentury #GlobalNeighbours #StrategicDialogue #KishoreMahbubani

I began my career with the United Nations 🇺🇳 in 1997, but my commitment to peace was shaped earlier, during a decade of military service 🇮🇳 . That period instilled discipline, duty and loyalty and also exposed me, at close range, to the human cost of violence. Over time, a growing unease took hold: the realisation that force alone cannot address the underlying drivers of conflict. That recognition ultimately led me to seek a different path. un-dco.org/stories/three-…
