Yesterday marks the 49th Anniversary of the Fall of Saigon. Congress needed 23 days to provide resettlement funding for our allies in SE Asia and 2.5 years to help these people become permanent residents. 2 years and 9 months have passed since Kabul's fall. Many Afghan allies and their families remain in immigration status limbo. Congress must do right by our allies from our nation's longest war. The FY25 NDAA provides our leaders with the opportunity to honor the commitments we made to our Afghan allies and allow them to fully rebuild their lives in their new home: the U.S.A.
