Just when you thought it couldn't get uglier here for the Mets ... Ian Happ crushed a two-run shot out of Wrigley off Sean Manaea.
Cubs lead 12-4.
Manaea has allowed five earned runs on six hits so far today in relief to raise his ERA to 4.60 on the year.

What I would do to fix the 2026 Mets immediately, if I were Steve Cohen: 1. Fire David Stearns today. 2. Fire Carlos Mendoza today. 3. Hire John Frascella as GM. 4. Promote Carlos Beltran to Manager. 5. Promote JD Martinez to Bench Coach. 6. Trade Brett Baty & Ronny Mauricio to the Giants for Luis Arraez. 7. Trade Francisco Lindor & Luis Robert to the Mariners for Randy Arozarena. 8. Trade Will Watson, pitching prospect, to the Rockies for outfielder Mickey Moniak. 9. Have Christian Scott replace David Peterson in the rotation. 10. Put Peterson in the bullpen, demote Austin Warren. 11. Promote Huascar Brazoban to Closer. Devin Williams' stuff is terrible, he is a middle reliever at best. 12. Put Jorge Polanco on the IL, call up Ryan Clifford. 13. My lineup would be: 1. Randy Arozarena LF 2. Luis Arraez 2B 3. Juan Soto RF 4. Mickey Moniak CF 5. Bo Bichette SS 6. Francisco Alvarez C 7. MJ Melendez DH 8. Mark Vientos 3B 9. Ryan Clifford 1B And of course Carson Benge can mix in for his at bats as well, because he needs reps & development... I also don't mind occasional at bats from Luis Torrens & Tommy Pham, they are scrappy old-school ballplayers Other hitters I would potentially target from bad teams: Rafael Devers, Willy Adames, Vinnie Pasquantino, Starling Marte, Willson Contreras, Trevor Story, Masataka Yoshida, Christian Walker & Carlos Correa. 14. My rotation would be: SP1 Nolan McLean SP2 Freddy Peralta SP3 Clay Holmes SP4 Kodai Senga SP5 Christian Walker - with Jonah Tong ready if Senga or Walker falter 15. My bullpen would be: Closer Huascar Brazoban 8th inning Craig Kimbrel Top lefty Brooks Raley Second lefty David Peterson Middle Devin Williams Middle Luke Weaver Long Tobias Myers Long Sean Manaea And that's how you fix the 2026 Mets... today.
