Plasmapheresis / Apheresis : Lets Dig In: Plasmapheresis—and related approaches like double filtration apheresis—are being explored for post-COVID vaccine injury, especially cardio-neurologic cases. That exploration matters. Let’s acknowledge the reality: In the absence of large trials and meaningful government recognition, patients and clinicians are forced to experiment to move the field forward. Waiting for perfect data isn’t an option for people actively suffering. But how we experiment matters. These are not benign interventions—they’re complex, invasive, and physiologically demanding. The goal (removing pathologic factors like autoantibodies or inflammatory mediators) is plausible—but we still don’t have clearly defined, reproducible targets in this population. So yes—try things. But also: • document outcomes rigorously • track patterns (who responds, who doesn’t) • be honest about variability and limits My own experience: Plasmapheresis and IVIG/SCIg have helped my neuropathy, fasciculations, and dysautonomia—but even there are tradeoffs (e.g., tinnitus flares) and the effects are transient not a cure. These are not simple fixes—they’re nuanced immune interventions. We also need to push back on fear-based narratives: Claims that immune globulin “contains spike protein” or harmful fragments—and should be avoided—haven’t been shown in any consistent or clinically meaningful way. Patients deserve clarity, not amplification of unproven risks. And as newer ideas emerge—double filtration, stem cell approaches (including those marketed from dental pulp “baby teeth,” even internationally)—they should be approached with curiosity, not blind adoption or blanket dismissal. Most important: If we believe “science isn’t science if it can’t be questioned,” that has to apply to everything—including our own favored hypotheses and treatments. No one gets a free pass from scrutiny. Bottom line: -We need to experiment—but we also need to measure -We need openness—but also accountability -We need innovation—but grounded in data, not just narrative That’s how we actually move this forward.

I've been working with @KevinMcCairnPhD and Edogawa Hospital to coordinate the treatment of our patients. Next Tuesday, I will become patient #18 of our protocol, to treat my own mRNA vax injury symptoms, which led to 22 ER visits/hospital stays over 2.5 years. @MaryBowdenMD I’m very interested in getting more information… I worked phase 1 clinical trials for years… Is there a website where can I see the outline of background, analysis plan, safety assessments? This may be more appropriate in a DM, however, I’d like to learn about where the trial will be and how I can follow it and the Nursing Standards for Implementation.
