NEURALINK: Erika Ross Ellison is Neuralink's new Head of Clinical. She was hired this past February. Per Erika, "I spent my first few weeks at Neuralink on a whirlwind tour with our world-class neurosurgery and research teams leading the US PRIME study, along with the study participants who make this work possible. Seeing the work up close has been energizing as we prepare for the next phase together. Grateful to join such a brilliant, mission-obsessed team pushing Neuralink technologies forward for the SCI and ALS communities. Excited to be here at such an important moment. Let’s go!" cont...

How does that add value to either side if both sides would in any case receive the full value of all strategies post merger as much as ante merger? A merger garners all the value of all the strategic possibilities for all the shareholders. In any event, there are urgent developments that require single teams instead of cross boundary teams.

@TeslaLarry @TeslaPaul1 @Gfilche @SpaceX @Tesla @_SFTahoe I agree. I also think SpaceX wants to prove out Starship and Starlink Mobile while Tesla proves out Robotaxi and Optimus to get “credit” for those multi-year development projects to determine valuation at time of merge. My guess is late 2027.

@TeslaPaul1 @jjhanna2 @Gfilche @SpaceX @Tesla @_SFTahoe Highly unlikely. The target is to IPO by mid-year. If they want to merge with Tesla simultaneously, they will need a Tesla Shareholder meeting, which would add several months to the process - and complicate it considerably - not to mention add risk. Not going to do that.

@jjhanna2 @Gfilche @SpaceX @Tesla @_SFTahoe @TeslaLarry What I thought I heard, and what I interpreted was that SpaceX could IPO and simultaneously do a merge w/ TSLA. Stock structured under SpaceX w/ preferred voting for Elon. Maybe that's not possible IDK.

Before Python, Java, or even C++, there was Fortran—the first major programming language. In 1957, John Backus and his team at IBM developed Fortran, making coding much easier than low-level machine code. Before Fortran, programmers had to write instructions in binary or assembly—slow and complicated. Fortran changed everything. It allowed programmers to use simple, math-like commands, making it especially useful for scientists and engineers. NASA even used Fortran to help land humans on the Moon. Fortran set the stage for modern coding languages, and it’s still used today in scientific computing.

@TheNextAlan @Gfilche @SpaceX @Tesla @_SFTahoe Because Tesla is a more valuable asset when combined with SpaceX, once SpaceX IPO is complete, the market will raise the value of Tesla stock in anticipation of the merger. BTW the demand for SpaceX stock RN far exceeds the underwriters' expectations. It's going to be a banger!

I'm not putting any share price or value on either company stock. I was simply illustrating that it will be a stock for stock exchange. Whatever the market cap of each company - at the date of the merger announcement - that will be the merger value. If SpaceX is - say - $1.5T and Tesla is - say - $2T, then the merger will be valued at $3.5T, and so on.

@TeslaLarry Tesla's market cap is $1.5 T today at a $399.27 share price. (I hope you just misspoke saying Tesla is roughly $1 T today and will rise to $1.5 T due to the SpaceX rise.) So if SpaceX emerges from the IPO at $2T, are you saying Telsa will rise by 50% to $2.25 T? What are you saying about that?

Here is one of the root causes of our budget deficit stemming from "government programs" growing boundlessly through willful ignorance, corruption and greed. Yet some senators and their acolytes ignore the reality and demand more taxes from "billionaires and trillionaires".
Charlie Smirkley@charliesmirkley

NYC spends more per homeless person than the median NYC household earns. $81,705 per person in FY2025. And $81,705 is a floor. It excludes supportive housing (~$500M/yr), mental health response teams, and NYPD encampment costs. The city projects ~$97K per person in FY2026.

@TeslaBoomerMama in a thoughtful post on the potential for a SpaceX/Tesla merger post the SpaceX IPO. She and I are in violent agreement on the optimum course forward. Due to the highly probably early inclusion into the Nasdaq and/or S&P indexes, there will not be a long lock-up period. So, I do believe there will be a great deal of liquidity for SpaceX shareholders AND - consequently - Tesla shareholders. Not financial advice, but to pay heed to TBM!

Summing up my position on a potential Space X - Tesla merger, which I discussed in more detail on @CuriousPejjy's podcast. Looking forward to your comments.

Per Grok: "Duffy's comments appear supportive of exactly that kind of vehicle, rather than opposing or ignoring it. The main hurdles remain NHTSA exemptions (currently capped at 2,500 units/year for non-compliant vehicles) and final approvals, but he has publicly signaled openness to updating rules to enable them." Hard to see why he would have specifically metioned this if he was not going to approve it.

My friend @TeslaLarry spent about 90 minutes laying out the structural crisis inside American healthcare. And the conclusion is straightforward. We can keep going the way we are. Toward a $5 trillion healthcare system. Declining life expectancy. More medical bankruptcies. More uninsured Americans. And layer after layer of government intervention trying to manage the consequences. Or we can change the system. Not with slogans. With structural reform. Larry’s point is simple: the United States can deliver better outcomes, cover more people, and spend trillions less doing so. But that requires action. And that conversation is starting now.

A hero. Among many. Our respect.
Sendil Palani@sendilpalani

After seventeen incredible years, my latest chapter at Tesla has come to a close. Words won’t do justice to how fulfilling the experience has been, but I’ll try anyway: Tesla barely survived Christmas 2008. I started a few days later in our Finance team, under an ongoing “Tesla Deathwatch”. I slept under my desk in San Carlos, CA at least once, and I wasn’t the only one. There are many companies with hard-working and talented employees, but few have the level of commitment and collaboration of the Tesla team. In retrospect, this should have been an obvious predictor of the successes that would follow. This is as true today as it was in 2009. To my former Finance team: You are heroes within a company full of heroics, given the full-body workout that is your daily job. Take an Accounting or Finance textbook off the shelf and flip to a random page - Tesla is undoubtedly manifesting the underlying concept in the real world. From selling hardware and software under various business models, managing assets of all types (including digital ones), to pursuing continuous investment into an ambitious future throughout the world, you make the impossible look easy. To my colleagues across the rest of the company - I am grateful for the time that you have spent to educate me, including during my stints outside of the Finance team. You have started with one of Tesla’s strongest advantages - the strongest talent across engineering, manufacturing/operations, and customer-facing functions - and have turned it into an unstoppable force via your “one team” attitude. For me, late-night sessions on topics ranging from the physics of a brake rotor to the training of a neural network proved more valuable than any classroom experience that came before, and made the company stronger as a result. Going to work is not supposed to be this much fun. @elonmusk : A heartfelt thanks for your endless love of humanity, and for demonstrating the power of thinking from first principles at all times, about all things. When Abundance is achieved and money ceases to have meaning, these lessons will be the most valuable commodity in our economy. To the outside world, who may not have experienced the above first-hand: Remember that Tesla’s mission is so ambitious and complex that any narrative about the company is naturally an oversimplification. Seek the truth about the company at all times. And support it in any way that you can! There are few higher callings/better uses of your time.

The most profound crisis for the US at thid time is NOT a war; it is our failing...our failed healthcare system. Dutch Rojas helps me detail the problem.

@TeslaLarry @bakChorMee99 Hi Larry, I think many people would like to hear your thoughts on exactly the catalysts for a merged company being greater than the sum of its parts. What are the additional shots when combined that arent being adressed individually or through partnerships. thanks

Something else no one is talking about regarding a potential SpaceX and Tesla merger: Would Elon threaten to step down as Tesla CEO if shareholders don’t vote to approve, as happened with the previous compensation votes? 🤔 In any case, I wouldn’t be voting to approve any merger/takeover in the near term. Not before Robotaxi and Bot flesh out. Not even at a 100% premium. Maybe in a few years… @TeslaBoomerMama @TeslaLarry @WR4NYGov

Last night we celebrated Larry Goldberg’s birthday. Most know him @TeslaLarry and if you know Larry, you know exactly why. He’s the kind of person who sees what’s coming before the rest of the world even looks up. He believed in the future when it was still just an idea, and he’s never stopped believing. Eight decades of curiosity, optimism, and genuine warmth for the people around him. The world is a better because of Larry. Happy Birthday Sir! Here’s to everything still ahead.
