- just because laws are more friendly to queer people doesn't mean people are. Southern hospitality kept ppl in Texas from being openly hateful in person. Not so in Cali, they'll west their hate on their sleeve (same is true of New York)

@twinkdefcon Was reading Neuromancer somewhat recently and stunned by how eerily accurate Gibson was with his predictions for the future with the large notable exception of the prevelance of Japanese tech firms in the novel (which in reality are totally irrelevant today).

Actually stunning how badly Japanese firms fumbled the commanding lead they had in consumer electronics in the 80s and 90s. The only sector of that industry where Japan is still clearly leading is video gaming, plus maybe some presence in audio products like headphones

Whenever the topic of SD card health comes up, many folk lament the cost of the super secret mfg tooling / "compatible reader" needed to poke at the JEDEC status regs, using MMC commands.
pro tip; most any linux system can do it for free...

The way SD cards fail is…gross. Anyone that does heavy photography or video work knows they’ll gradually get slow; often without outright failing. I blame the SD association. The storage controller isn't required to report *any* health information to the host!

@luciascarlet Hey that’s not entirely fair, they did finally release the new “WinFS” filesystem promised for Longhorn in “ReFS” and it only took a decade+ for ReFS to essentially be unusable in any real way.

@sabremikecarrol @_bengelo_ No one is arguing that the USL is perfect (it’s not and the League should be setup for profit sharing instead of the corporation controlling everything directly).
That being said, the USL is attempting to improve itself, establishing Pro/Rel and a new Div I leauge. Go USL!

@xTave24 @_bengelo_ La Liga exists to promote the clubs that make up its ranks. MLS exists to drain money from the fanbase in increasingly exploitative ways.
La Liga currently has six active teams in EU quarterfinals competitions, Inter Miami got knocked out of the CCC in the first round.

But including MLS & USL clubs beside Cosmo league clubs is fantasy.
I love Cosmo league, been to many matches, but it’s not a spectator sport. Maybe a few players’ spouses or dads there if there’s anyone that could be loosely called ‘a crowd’.
