Justification by faith alone is the doctrine by which the Church stands or falls, and it’s for this reason that Rome stands as fallen and must repent. To believe this is to affirm Classical Protestantism.

@Jijkles @Parodyjeffx Nope. Jesus has been exalted at the right hand of God. Christ rules from heaven. All authority in heaven and earth has been given to him

While I don't disagree in theory, in practical, it hasn't happened yet. Messiah Jesus will be king over all the earth when he indeed sits on David's earthly throne in the coming Messianic Kingdom. Until that time, he sits at the right hand of the Father, waiting til his enemies become his footstool. Meanwhile, most of those who now cry 'Christ is King' like to accompany it with pics of crusaders, harkening back to the time when the 'Church' was Christ's kingdom and she was the one to crush all her enemies. This interpretation of OT passages is neither biblical nor a fulfillment of Luke 1.

And now he has. The president told the press pool he did not think it was a depiction of him as Jesus but a depiction of him as a physician or doctor.

Are you familiar with the term "Fifth Column"? It's a term dating from the Spanish Civil War and it basically refers to any organized group of people determined to undermine a nation and destroy it from within. In the past 100 years, the USA has had plenty of Fifth Columns. The KKK. The German/American Bund. Multiple Communist groups. But the term has always referred to some small, fringe minority. But not today. In 2026, the Fifth Column is the entire Democrat Party and its army of media, NGO operatives and useful idiots, as well as a smaller group of Loony Libertarians. Don't believe me? Who is actively rooting for the USA to lose to Iran?

This assumes a view of Sola Scriptura that the Protestant tradition does not affirm. To put it in a syllogism: 1) Scripture is authoritative because it is God-breathed, not because the Church declares it so. 2) The Church, as a historical and visible body, receives, preserves, and recognizes the canon through a real but ministerial authority under God. 3) Therefore, Sola Scriptura does not rely on tradition to form the canon in an authoritative sense. Rather, it affirms that the canon is given by God and recognized through the ordinary means of the Church’s life over time.
Tyler Lee Conway@TylerLeeConway

Sola Scripture is interesting because it relies heavily on tradition that formed the canon of Scripture. In other words, you needed the Church to tell you what texts were divinely inspired and what were not.

That's a lot of words for an interpretation of what he said when he didn't actually say that. He said NEVER this includes the Old Testament (and Jesus is the God of the Old Testament and came to fulfill it not replace it) and he never clarified that, you just made up words for him hence at best is careless. For someone of his position he should know better. And this isn't the first time doing something like this, my link was an older post of his.

Was God on the side of the Pope’s father when he stormed the beaches of Normandy to “wield the sword”?
Megan Basham tweet media
Pope Leo XIV@Pontifex

God does not bless any conflict. Anyone who is a disciple of Christ, the Prince of Peace, is never on the side of those who once wielded the sword and today drop bombs. Military action will not create space for freedom or times of #Peace, which comes only from the patient promotion of coexistence and dialogue among peoples.

🚨 JUST IN: The red lines in VP JD Vance’s FINAL OFFER to the Iranians before leaving Pakistan have been revealed, per Fox VERY reasonable demands. 1. Permanently halt all uranium enrichment activities inside Iran. 2. Fully dismantle the major nuclear enrichment facilities 3. Remove all highly enriched uranium stockpiles from Iranian territory. 4. Accept a comprehensive regional peace, security, and de-escalation agreement that includes guarantees involving neighboring allies. 5. Immediately cease all financial, military, and material support for terrorist proxy groups, including Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis. 6. Fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz to unrestricted international maritime traffic, with no tolls, fees, inspections, or limitations imposed.

Let's see what the CCC says: The Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) paragraph 1252: "The practice of infant Baptism is an immemorial tradition of the Church. There is explicit testimony to this practice from the second century on, and it is quite possible that, from the beginning of the apostolic preaching, when whole 'households' received baptism, infants may also have been baptized." So... we get "second century" + "quite possible" + "infants may... have been" and from that the CC gets Infant Baptism. If you as a Catholic, don't see a problem with this, I don't know what to say.

Here are Bible passages on war. Showing the nonsense of @Pontifex here. I will be quoting from the Dead Sea Scrolls and Septuagint to show these are ancient translations. " Pertaining to Dauid. (1) Blessed be the Lord, my God, who trains my hands for battle and my fingers for war;" Psalm 143(144):1 (LXX, keep in mind LXX often uses different numbering system) "35(34)training my hands for battle, and my arms you made a bronze bow" Psalm 17(18):35 (LXX) "20[1 When you go out to w]ar against [your] e[nemies, and you see horses and] chariots and115 a people [more] numerous [than you, you shall not be afraid of them—for the LORD your God, who brought you up from the lan]d of Egypt, is with you. 2 And [when you draw near to battle, the priest shall approach and speak to the people, 3 and say t]o [them], “Hear, [O Israel, you are drawing near today to make war against your enemies. Do not lose heart or be afraid or panic or be in dread of them, 4 for it is the LORD your God who goes with you, to fig]ht for you against [your] enemie[s, to give you victory].”" Deuteronomy 20:1-4 (DSS) "Now if you go out to war against your enemies and see horse and rider and a people more numerous than you, you shall not be afraid of them, for the Lord your God is with you, who made you go up from the land of Egypt. 2And it shall be when you draw near for battle, then the priest, when he has come forward, shall speak to the people 3and say to them: “Hear, O Israel! Today you are advancing to battle against your enemies. Let your heart not be undone; be not afraid, nor be shattered, nor turn aside from before them, 4for it is the Lord your God who advances with you, to fight with you against your enemies, to save you.”" Deuteronomy 20:1-4 (LXX) "35 He teaches my hands to fi[g]ht, so that [my arms] can be[nd a bow of bronze." 2 Samuel 22:35 (DSS) "training my hands for war and breaking a bronze bow with my arm." 2 Reigns 22:35 (LXX, sometimes the Septuagint names the books differently) "[1 When the LORD your God brings you into the land that you are about to enter and possess, and drives away many nations before you—the Hittites, the Girgashites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations mightier and stronger than you— 2 and when the LORD your God delivers them up before you, and you defeat them, then] you must [total]ly destroy t[hem. You shall make no treaty with them, nor show mercy to them." Deuteronomy 7:1-2 (DSS) "Now if the Lord your God brings you into the land that you are entering there to inherit and shall clear away great and numerous nations before you—the Chettite and the Gergesite and the Amorrite and the Chananite and the Pherezite and the Heuite and the Iebousite, seven nations numerous and mightier than you—2and the Lord your God shall deliver them into your hands and you shall strike them, by annihilation you shall annihilate them. You shall not establish a covenant with them, neither shall you have mercy on them" Deuteronomy 7:1-2 (LXX) "3 The Lord, when he shatters wars, the Lord is his name. 4 “The chariots of Pharao and his host he threw into the sea; choice riders, third-ranked officers, he drowned in the Red Sea. 5 With open sea he covered them; they sank down into the deep like stone. 6 Your right hand, O Lord, has been glorified in power; your right hand, O Lord, crushed enemies. 7 And in the abundance of your glory you shattered the adversaries; you sent your anger, and it consumed them like stubble. 8 And through the breath of your wrath the water separated; the waters were congealed like a wall; the waves were congealed in the midst of the sea. 9 The enemy said, ‘In pursuit I will overtake; I will divide spoils; I will satisfy my soul; I will destroy with my dagger; my hand shall dominate.’ 10 You sent your breath; the sea covered them; they sank like lead in violent water." Exodus 15:3-10 (LXX) "9And if you go out to war in your land against the adversaries who oppose you, you shall also give a signal with the trumpets, and you shall be remembered before the Lord, and you shall escape to safety from your enemies. " Numbers 10:9 (LXX) "22because many casualities fell, because the war was from God, and they lived in their place until the exile." 1 Supplements 5:22 (LXX) Paul also says in the New Testament: "4 For he is God’s servant to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For He is God’s servant, an avenger for wrath to the one doing evil." Romans 13:4 (BLB)

@all_themoxie He didn't say that God does not hear the prayers of those involved in war. He said: Jesus does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war, but rejects them I understood this to be a word against the leadership who makes the decision to go to war

🙏🏽🧎🏽‍♀️THAT Amber 🧎🏽‍♀️🙏🏽
I have been carefully studying and praying through the Holy Father’s recent statements, comparing them with the Catechism and the Church Fathers. He is the Pope, and his words deserve serious consideration. Even so, I remain in disagreement with language that presents an absolute rejection of all conflict, and I struggle with statements that seem to suggest God does not hear the prayers of those involved in war. My concern is not with the call to peace, but with wording that appears to go beyond the Church’s established teaching on legitimate defense. That said, I continue to pray—for the Holy Father, for peace, for wisdom, and for my own heart to remain rightly ordered.

I joined the Catholic Church for a reason—I believe it is the Church Christ founded. I spent a LOT of time studying the faith and reading the Catechism cover to cover before my baptism. Lately, I’ve found myself struggling with some of the Holy Father’s public statements. The tone feels absolute, and I’m having a hard time reconciling that with the Church’s full teaching that I’ve studied in depth. And if I’m honest, the reaction in my own heart has not been good. So I’m choosing to guard my heart. For now, I’m stepping back from @Pontifex’s social media and these conversations. I will keep the prayers and rosaries I’ve committed to, and I will continue to pray for the Holy Father. But my focus needs to stay where it belongs: the Eucharist, Sacred Scripture, the Catechism, and the guidance of my priest. Lord, have mercy. Keep me faithful and rightly ordered.
