@DrTaraB20 @AcademicChatter Many conferences I went to in grad school supplied lodging and it was two to a room, two beds in the room. In my postdoc lab we often voluntarily double up because it’s fun and feels safer, but it’s always our choice.

@gbosslet On the research side of things, IUSM post docs 5y ago did not have any policy. However, IUSM PhD students have had one since 2009. 6w paid, up to 6w unpaid as of 8y ago.

6 weeks of paid family leave with the option for 6 extra weeks of unpaid leave for housestaff is unconscionable We in the GME world are responsible for this We have done this to ourselves; allowing this to continue is not an option

For those curious (cc: @womeninnephro), I’ve now pumped in 3 bathrooms at #KidneyWk because there are only two room, one is locked and the other is literally 1.2 miles away. We should be better than this!

@MicahPollak RSV is at the bottom of my preferred list. No available vaccine. Potentially catastrophic impact on helpless infants. Covid is at the top of my list. Good vaccines, lots of infection-acquired immunity, readily available rapid tests.
