FUORI!

@yuriouss You guys are so extreme omg. Laurent himself claimed that developing 2025 car until the end cost development for 2026 car. These are high profile engineers we are talking about, others are trying to poach. Have some respect. He had significant contribution from 2018

we're going to see a lot of this which is just a return to the "blame everything on Horner" discourse... if Red Bull does end up finding another scapegoat and get rid of Wache...oh boy... wouldn't that be a dumb thing to do with Horner already charting his return to F1 btw, Wache was the one responsible for the Red Bull which was the fastest car in the second half of 2025
Stormy³@StormyMv33

Utterly useless how do you build the worst chassis on the grid with all the resources available to him The engine is the ONLY reason we are scoring points look how close RB is vs RBR

@mandarthalorian I saw his onboard for more than 30 laps. He fought the car a few times after the last chicane. But, in all laps Gasly's exit was just far superior

🚨 BREAKING NEWS 🚨 🔥 According to AutoRacer, Jonathan Wheatley is inclined to accept Aston Martin's offer, although the agreement has not yet been formalized. 🔄 Although the german manager boasts an excellent relationship with Binotto, for personal reasons, he would be happy to return to England. ✅️ All indications point to a positive outcome, with a move from Audi Formula 1 Team to the Silverstone outfit appearing highly likely. ⏱️ The terms of his "gardening leave" remain to be finalized, with Aston Martin reportedly pushing to have him as soon as possible . 📰 @SmilexTech via @Auto_Racer_it

"Everyone can see the car is embarrasing, and has steadily declined every year Wache was in charge" Pierre Wache, RBR CTO 2018-ongoing STOP HATING F1 ENGINEERS FOR DOING THEIR JOB!
In a hole@Tarunv265

@GoTaB24 @matinfathii @AeroTechVH That's a really stupid way to look at things, because if that was the case you couldn't have a negative opinion about anything. Everyone can see the car is embarrasing, and has steadily declined every year Wache was in charge, except when everyone else stopped developing in 2025

@jujukinnie @RBRHub Give it time. The aero department of Red Bull is extraordinary. They try all kind of radical stuff. Not to forget the old ass wind tunnel

Laurent Mekies: "We probably have the most to learn about the power unit. The potential for improvement in energy management is similarly significant." "The learning curve across the entire field will be very steep. But nobody here gives up, You must never forget that this is our first in-house engine. Where it's being manufactured today was a field just a few years ago. Now the drive for progress must continue."

The reason behind Max's crash was a software issue, which caused excessive energy recuperation, locking the rear tires. Wache says its ‘an easy fix’ and there's no major concerns He also says if Max didn't have these issues, the estimation is that he'd be about 3 tenths behind Mercedes (via @shigasportsf1)

@F1Clapped They want their views to be validated from someone who doesn't know they exist. These people suck the fun out of the sport

The single worst part of social media especially in sports twitter, is the weird demand fans have for athletes to mimic their world views “or else” These people do not give a fuck what your world view is, most probably don’t share your view, and honestly? Who cares? I’m watching sports, not saving the planet

🎙️Isack Hadjar: “We’re not the fastest — at worst, fourth-strongest on the grid.” 🗣️ “What’s certain at least is that we are not the fastest. At worst, we’re the fourth-strongest team on the grid, and in that situation I could be eighth in Melbourne — which compared to last year would be a good result and not frustrating.” “I don’t want to put too much emphasis on it, but generally everything looks good. In terms of reliability we’re happy, and our race pace — both in long and short stints — seems solid, though I expect to be more competitive in the race than in qualifying at least early in the season.” [autohebdo.fr/actualites/f1/…]

Fastest lap comparison between the presumed top 4 teams today. It seems like McLaren has shifted deployment strategy with Oscar again. He is doing something similar to what Max was doing last week. A lot of deployment in the main straight that he "pays back" between T11-T13 #F1

@dr_obbs Different topic, I'm trying to see which lap of these drivers were the race start. Max's is the last one. I'm unsure about others. Can you help me out. I saw Max's race start and it was obvious he wasn't pushing so I just wanted to compare with others

These are the points that matter. A wing with a normal AoA will generate lift on a wind turbine (downforce on a race car). The first circle shows this point around 30 deg of AoA. Then as you flip it to 90 degrees (sail), the drag spikes. And the lift (DF on race car) goes to nearly zero. Obv very dependent on design. But you get the point. Then the wing flips to 180 degrees (upside down) and what was designed to generate lift on a turbine now generates downforce (arrow), or lift on the Ferrari wing. Buuuuuuut… only a fraction of the load at the original optimized AoA of 30 degrees. So then on this Ferrari wing you will generate some lift, but it’s not a 1:1 relationship. It’s some fraction of the downforce in corner mode for Ferrari. But as you can see, the drag at 180 degrees is nearly zero.

Ferrari definitely taking a page out of the wind turbine industry with that one. There is LOADS of research data out there around wind turbine blades at varying angles of attack. In the second image (figure 3) you can see the “sail” effect during the 90 degree rotation producing a big jump in the drag force. Obviously this is the inverse for a downforce producing wing flipped to lift generating position. (All you have to do is flip your brain and the chart. 😂😂)
