After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today. I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby. It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC. May God bless America.

MAN CONVICTED OF ATTEMPTED COERCION AND ENTICEMENT OF A MINOR In March of 2024, the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force conducted Operation “Spring Cleaning”. The ICAC unit of the Sacramento Valley Hi-Tech Crimes Task Force investigates crimes relating to the sexual exploitation of children throughout Northern California. During this operation, 63-year-old Mark Sigl of Antelope communicated with an individual he believed to be the father of a 10-year-old girl, but who was in fact an undercover ICAC Detective. Sigl communicated his desire to perform sex acts on the child and planned to meet the “father” (undercover detective) and child at a designated location. When Sigl arrived at the designated location, he was arrested by Sheriff’s Office Detectives. Several sex items were recovered from his parked vehicle. Sigl plead guilty to attempted coercion and enticement of a minor to engage in sexual activity and was sentenced on February 10, 2026 to 10 years in federal prison. Special thanks to the Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA), Zullar Khan, for their hard work and dedication in securing this conviction. While details of this incident are horrific enough, the content in the chat with Detectives was even more vile.  Detectives are concerned there may be additional unreported victims and are asking that any community members with children who may have interacted with Sigl to contact the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office by calling 916-874-5115 or contact the Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP (4357), 1-800-AA-CRIME, or **TIPS.  Use the “P3 TIPS” app or online at sacvalleycrimestoppers.com.
