Roughly 46 percent of voters in Virginia vote Republican.
Geographically, the vast majority of the state is conservative (see 2024 voting map).
Yet, those on the right have zero representation in the U.S. Senate.
In the U.S. House of Representatives, Republicans currently hold five of 11 seats, 45 percent.
Under the proposed redistricting plan by Gov. Spanberger and Democrat legislators, Republicans would lose four of those seats.
Democrats would control 10 of 11 House seats and both Senate seats.
Is that fair?

@josephproctor21 @MichelleMaxwell Personally no b/c of undercounted they lost at least 2 seats that would have been R. Couple that with massive population gain since Biden plus Ca. Population loss, but gerrymandered anyway. Texas didn’t start this.
A bi-partisan committee based on data is my choice 4 all states.

States with significant errors in the 2020 census: Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Mississippi, Tennessee, & Texas had net undercounts, Delaware, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island &Utah had net over counts.

The SAVE Act is the most blatant attempt at voter suppression in ages.
I support requiring voters to show identification, like we do in Virginia. However, the SAVE Act discriminates against servicemembers, married women, rural Americans, and anyone else who doesn’t have a passport or their birth certificate on hand.

I am a Democrat. I served in the Clinton administration. I did not vote for Donald Trump and am highly unlikely to support him or his acolytes in the future. I also have serious disagreements with many of the Trump administration’s domestic and foreign policies.
But it is profoundly disturbing that a growing segment of the far left appears to be almost rooting for Hamas, Hezbollah, the Iranian regime, and other forces fundamentally opposed to the United States and our allies. This seems to reflects a corrosive strain of anti-Americanism, dressed up in postcolonial theory, that risks blinding us to the moral realities of our world and the nature of our adversaries.
